Hi I'm looking to buy new laptop. But I'm not sure if I should choose the laptop without touchscreen or the ones with touchscreen. As I'm concern about the durability for touchscreen laptops.
Also I saw a website recommending this model of HP: 'HP ENVY x360 Convert 13-ay1025AU'. (https://www.hp.com/sg-en/shop/hp-envy-x360-convert-13-ay1025au-537d6pa.html?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt_aXtYWE-AIV9JlmAh) But I'm wondering if it's good or not, though for the price seems to be a good deal. As I saw there are people who commented about this model's hinges aren't good and tend to fall apart quite easily and also easily heats up. So I just wondering if anyone used this model before and can give me some comments about this model too.

Looking at the specs, I think the price is "ok" at best. If you're looking to get it for the next few years, I would at least opt for something with 16GB of RAM. 8GB can get a bit limiting these days when you have multiple windows open at the same time.

I'm not sure about durability so I can't comment on that. Logically, I think a laptop with a conventional hinge rather than a 360 degree hinge would probably be more durable.

As for this specific model, there is actually a newer model coming up soon (though I guess the price would be higher): https://www.hp.com/us-en/laptops-and-2-in-1s/envy.html

The new model comes with dual USB-C ports and the charging is also via USB-C so you can potentially use the same charger to charge your laptop and phone. The current Envy x360 still uses a barrel pin charger by default (although the single USB-C port can also be used to charge the laptop in an emergency).

Quite a decent offer.

Like the above commenter, I would recommend getting 16GB RAM just to ensure the notebook is ready for any intensive multitasking jobs.... like more than 50 web browser tabs and the likes. Yes, I need to keep that many open for my work.

Of course, that would mean working with a big monitor while the notebook is just the processing powerhouse.

Regarding durability, not comments as HP has been selling these designs for some years now, so I don't really expect them to be as bad as the comments you hear.

On a side note, you can as easily also consider an ASUS Zenbook Flip series.
Might cost you a little more, but you might like its build quality and design -- it's a higher class than the HP Envy series.

You can also check out the Lenvo Slim Carbon series. Quite good in our books.
