use 5G song song liao, drop to 4g sure feels a bit of the difference in first 1-3 days, after that get used to it liao.

4g to 5G not so obvious.

I actually do not care about the Singtel 5G speed vs Singtel 4G speed. The worrying issue is the degradation of Singtel 4G coverage.

I am still monitoring the situation -- today I had one disconnection again on the bus along Jurong West Avenue 1. So far my disconections mainly happen on the bus or inside the lift. I still have the doubt whether it is the phone issue (Poco X4 GT phone) or Singtel 4G coverage issue.

Interestingly Singtel pushes a SMS ad for 5G access at S$5.04 per month (no contract) but I will not sign up. Previous offer was S$5 per month, 50% free, 12 months contract, which means S$2.50 per month.

I am not sure but they might be re-purposing some of the 4G bandwidth for MNVO 5G non SA plans

Yes, 5G NOW Access is for existing Singtel postpaid users with Singtel SIM Only/Combo/Combo XO/XOP 50 plan.

For example, my Singtel SIM Only plan has 60G 4G data per month (first three months free 100G 5G data). By subscription to this 5G Access add-on, it becomes 60G 5G data per month.

So i guess is 5G SA with NSA when no SA available, your SIM only plan 4g is 5G SA enabled SIM?

I have not changed the SIM card so it is still 4G SIM card (from Sept 2013 to now as I was using Combo 2 before converting to Singtel SIM Only in Jan 2022). I am not so sure whether it was 5G SA or NSA when I was using 5G during the first 3 months. I tend to believe it was 5G NSA.

But you can get free 5G SIM card exchange once you subscribe to the 5G Access add-on and I believe it will become 5G SA enabled.

Which sim only has the best coverage?

I'm using giga and realised the network speed has slowed down at some area.

My desk in office almost no signal and dam slow.
Circle line from buona to Serangoon very slow

Will gomo have a better coverage?

Possible, since you’ll be in Singtel vs StarHub’s network. But regardless, slowdowns are expected as long as you’re on an mvno in crowded places la.

Hi all, just started working in SG and is currently looking for a suitable plan for my own personal usage. Company provided me with a phone but its only a 17GB plan (for some reason), and I got a free StarHub prepaid like a day ago with my bank card, but I've noticed that my StarHub prepaid has really bad performance and is very intermittent. It'll have full bars but loads stuff like it's on 2G, and I have to sometimes turn on and off airplane mode for it to work again. Any advice on which plan to get?

I mainly use it for videos/data only usage, so I'd like a recommendation on the cheapest possible plan with decent coverage with 100GB data bundled. My company mobile is M1 so if possible I'd like to avoid having MVNOs of M1/M1 subsidiaries telco

Prepaid/postpaid doesn't matter to me as I don't live in SG and only use my SG plan when I'm working, 5G/4G doesn't matter as well but if the price is right for 5G then why not :sneaky:

Just wondering if you are using pure Singtel 4G or Singtel 4G/5G. Or you have two phones, one with pure 4G and the other with mixed 4G/5G. I am basically compare the situation where I frequenct the same locations, using the same phone, but the difference is just now I do not have 5G access and previous I have the 5G access.

For the locations I know the few weak spots and the weak sports do not change before and after the 5G access expired. But the new thing is that I started to have occassional loss of signal on the two bus routes after the 5G access expired last month.

It is possible that the phone (Poco X4 GT, MTK Dimensity 8100) is worse off compared to previous phone (Realme X50 5G, SD765G) in terms of reception. I do not remember I had the loss of the signal on the same two bus routes.

And then it could be 5G somehow helped for the Poco phone when I had the Singtel 5G access.

In any case, the situation is managable and not too bad. So I am still fine with Singtel 4G.

Ok so here's the thing, SIMBA's desktop webpage doesn't work cause for some reason it doesn't allow me to enter a postcode (I don't have a registered address for residency in Singpass so it can't autofill), and their mobile apps on iOS/Android both doesn't work, iOS gets stuck at their like flip up page thingy, and android just can't obtain info from Singpass after scanning, any other way to subscribe?
