Anyone have any guide on how to access this? I am able to see the connected hard disk in the connected device of the router. Using Singtel WiFi Gigabit Router AC Plus. Enabled samba in storage. What is the user name and password to connect to the SMB share? When I connect to "SMB:\\NETBIOS NAME" I get prompted with username and password.

Check if the AC Plus Router Samba Server setting has a checkbox option 'Allow Anonymous'? If available just tick it and you should be able to access (read and write) the USB HDD without username or password.

I do not bother to power-up my Singtel AC Plus which has been put aside soon after I got it after the recontract in Sept 2018. It was a really lousy router even though it may work okay-ish as an AP.

Anyway, I just tried the Samba feature on the improved Singtel Mesh Router and the feature is probaly the same.

The settings are bare-minimum. In order to set it up, you do need to log in with the user name (admin) and password (default password is on the label at the back on the router).

Samba feature : Enable
Netbios Name : Singtel-MeshRG
Workgroup Name : WORKGROUP

To access it, no password is required. I have no problems access it from my Windows 11 computer using the file manager and point to \\SINGTEL-MESHRG. Speed is not that good at about 18...20MB/sec when I copy the Ubuntu 20.04 desktop ISO (about 3GB) with my Sandisk USB 3 drive.
