I don't know why need to keep building shopping malls, not as if the shops are already struggling to make profits. Just behind it is Sembawang Shopping Centre, further up is Sun Plaza and toward Yishun got mega NorthPoint City opening soon.

mall give more 'atas' feel..... so will be the rental... and the costs of their products... :o

Get a small utility car

Move around - I know people like this :(

Canberra is like a 1 x 1km town. You run from 1 end to the other is 5mins...., all within 1km radius from a mrt. Ghost town? Only short sighted people would think so.

Slumberra

Paging for Mr canberra.

Very long never drop by this thread. How is Slumberra estate these days? More residents as compared to 6 months ago? :s13:

If cheap

Can consider no choice :(

Cheap only if you ballot BTO before Canberra MRT Station news was announced by LTA. :D

The selling points of Canberra estate are:

1) Affordable
2) Canberra MRT Station
3) Canberra Plaza

Other than that nothing much except that going to Johor Bahru for groceries/shopping is very convenient if you can tolerate the jams.

Downside is if you work or need to travel to east (Changi Airport) or south (Sentosa) part of Singapore more travelling time will be required. Going to Orchard is pretty reasonable distance though.

Buy hey just be grateful that you have a roof over your head because you are spending very little to buy into a place with a MRT Station at your doorstep especially if you live within 300m to it. A premium privilege you have to pay in other parts of Singapore. Even the prices in Punggol/Sengkang are not cheap these days.

On the MRT Station side will be all private condos. Those folks that bought the new and future condos will have to pay a premium for staying near a MRT Station.

I don't think there is a soft opening date yet, but it's expected to be completed in end of 2019. This was latest info during the sports hub launch. There is a pdf here: https://www.hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/press-releases/hdb-unveils-new-generation-of-neighbourhood-centres

Canberra is not that undeveloped. Have you even been there?

They have basic amenities which is enough considering about 50+% of the HDB flats there aren't even ready.

Also, if you wait till it's developed, the price will shoot up so yes, it's like investing in stocks.

The residents knew what they were getting into when they BTO'd there and in about 2-5 years, it won't be a ghost town anymore so what's the problem?

You think AMK, Bishan, TPY all what? Everything created in a workshop, then they throw it into the piece of land? You think the early residents didn't have to wait for their amenities to be developed when towns in AMK/Bishan/TPY were first built?

So yes, you all are short sighted as ****.

If you all rich, you wouldn't even bother with HDBs lah :s13:
