First time boarding Genting Dream Cruise for this Sunday, so would appreciate some advice.

What's the earliest time for boarding?
Is food available on the ship once on board like lunch etc?

Heard some chatter about some mini abalone for first night dinner, which dining hall should I go for that?

Which inclusive dining options do you recommend and which restaurant? Buffet better or ala-carte option better?

thank you for all advice given. :s13:

Sunday cruise usually departure about 5pm. You can reach there as early as noon to check-in. Boarding probably commence about 1pm and you can go straight for your lunch.

Guess you probably read about mini abalone from those who stayed in suites in earlier posts. CNY coming not surprise if you can get it soon.

You can check out the menus on the TV screen outside the restaurants to find out the dishes before you decide which one to eat. It's all up to individual preferences.

So how much did you 'buy' for your 7 TP? What type of cabin are they giving free for your weekend cruise?

I was not intending to buy, play or gamble at all on this cruise.

I thought all I would do was to reconfirm they results of the freestyle online game. I know that it cost $50 per TP which is 20% cheaper than the etg roulette game. So I spend $50 here but I know previously that this game is not captured by the ship's computer. The play goes to the central Genting computer on shore and the results would not be recorded for a few days.

Then the next day some acquaintances told me about this 7 TP offer.
Just as I expected $60 got me 1 TP or 315 PP. It is less than the 325 PP as I understand there may be some currency fluctuations. So I spend another $420 here. So total I spend $470.

Ask 7th floor membership and they could not say what cabin I would get only that it depends on my membership status.

Free cabins onboard membership wont be able to tell you. You will need to call their hotline. Yes card tier do make differences in their reviews and rewards.

Onboard TP promotions always change i guess they trying to make you play more. My next cruise is on 31Jan so have to see whats on offer lol

Thanks for the info, its very useful. Actually I am not staying Palace suite but heard from those past cruisers that they found abalone from the inclusive restaurants at the higher floors?

Weekend cruise is mostly 3D/2N but there are exception during special holidays. For this Free or Complimentary cruise usually is 3D/2N depends on availability but again depends on your gaming record.

Each cabin can accomodates from 1 to 4 persons. Just pay the Sea Port Taxes and Gratutity per person plus non-member fees if applicable.

TP is Tier Point to detemine your membership tier or status. Example Silver card need 6TP or Gold 60TP or Platinum 600TP and reviewed every 6 months.

PP is Plus Point earned from Casino Play (Tables or Slot Machines). This is valid for about 1 year and can use to redeem cabin or other Purchases onboard.

If you booked Suite, the Palace Restaurant at deck 17 is one of the addition inclusive plus few other more.

This menu looks more tempting than reality.
Lobster is a small half shell tail.
Wangi steak is the same as the sirloin steak we get in the 7th floor dining.
Must put up a thick face this time and ask them for the lobster and steak, 2 dishes.

Few months ago, I encountered the menus showed on screen was completely different from the dishes served at Dream Dining Deck 8. So funny.

your cruise is 12Jan? Thats a 3D2N cruise to PD?

Yes sometimes they do have abalone soup for the Chinese inclusive restaurants and even sea cucumber.

Try all the inclusive restaurants even function 8 deck 8 if is open.

Buffet at Lido try to go early or late as is very crowded during peak. The rest they will assign table for you.

PP earning have reduced to about 290-300PP for Slots and 400PP for Table per TP from my recent cruise maybe due to exchange rates.

$420/$470 looks higher compared with the buy-in deposit of $300 for Balcony on 4D/3N provided you can wash clean the NN chips or eCredits.

Yes it is high. But the beauty of this you can have both.
In effect what they are doing is double count the TP and PP.
When you take the buy in package and wash the eCredits you get TP and PP.
If you have not earn 7 TP you can always top up to 7 TP and get the free weekend cruise also.
