Anyone knows the logic behind the decisions?

From Google - 87,000 civil servants in 2022
From glass door - average salary $4,200

Estimated payment - $401,940,000
($401.94 million to be paid for year end bonus)

Above is estimated based on numbers from googling... Unless they decide to release actual figure to public... lol...
...
Give bonus, civil servant happy (87k)
U-Turn don't increase GST, almost every one in SG happy (5+ millions)

top tier civil servant: GST increase has nothing to do with CS bonus... LoL
GST revenue = goes where?
CS bonus = from where?

If depends on statutory board/organisation/company profitability then all staff under HDB should not get any bonus, right?

Salary = contract obligation paid for work done and time spent... since cost of living increases, will expect this component to be increased...

Define bonus.

bonus is paid for good work done past year

they r paid handsomely because they did a good job, push and work super hard to make 2 x gst increase come to fruition

If you want to be greedy, just say it.
Dun lie about coffers being empty and end up giving yourself 5% pay rise and 1.1 month bonus in the end.
I am not against the salary increase and bonus.
Dun act poor and end up being so generous in rewarding yourself.

It is all a lie in the end.

How they define or calculate the "structural funding gap" now. One of the components is bonus?

I would agree that they need to give something to the blue collar positions since the salary is really very low under current cost of living.

But to declare 1.1x across whole public sector? If able to do so why need increase GST at all?

What is the expected increase of revenue generated from this 2% GST increase, and compared to 1.1x bonus across all public sector employees (ministers and perm sect also draw this rate for year end bonus too? How about staff with multiple roles like mayor and MP?)

Thought reserve building is the main priority thats why need increase GST? I believe our public servants are strong willed to continue to endure without bonuses till reserve is back strong again. (Selected sector like health care already received some other cash or bonuses earlier...). Am I wrong?

But whats the point of this question? Theres no meaning to it.
It would be irresponsible not to pay them 1.1
