Had Ginseng chicken in Seoul.
The soup is good, rich and flavourful.
They use small spring chickens.
Expensive at about $20...price increased!

Lunch at Kanda Soba in Seoul.
Seems they also have a branch in SG but with slightly different menu.
Each dish is about $12

The dry soba version is quite tasty although a bit heavy in taste.
Prefer the dry version over the soup.
They also give free rice if u want to mix rice in at the end with the remainder of the sauce.

Soup ramen was ok, thick type soup. The chasiew was just ok, like a more tender version of ham.
Egg was good.

Can order additional egg, chasiew n seaweed.

The side dishes were really good n we had a refill!

TS, I like your post so much, it has been years since I went SKorea. Is Covid19 measurement very tight, or very relaxing now?

Thanks!

It is back to pre covid now in Korea except that indoor mask is required.

Tonight was chili pork set at Hongdae.
Nondescript restaurant on 2nd floor off main Hongdae Street but a good gem!

$28 for 2 person set.
Free refill of banchan n soup
The soup is really good with lots of ingredients and wow pulled meat banchan! Seldom see such meat banchan in normal restaurants in Seoul.
Very worth it.

Put the rice into a bowl, fill the stone bowl with hot Barley water n cover.
Later it will become porridge.

They also gave other items like boiled meat and grilled fish.

Any recommendations for Busan?

hmm not really as i didnt spend a lot of time there.

1. Near BIFF area, there are several street stalls selling Hotteok. It is a sweet pancake type snack with nuts inside. It is very good and worth trying

2. There is a seafood market there where u can buy fresh seafood n bring up to the restaurants for them to cook for u.

3. I'll try to find the name of a yummy fish soup restaurant. They also sell fried fish.
There was another restaurant that i went to which had amazing banchan side dishes.
I'll post again if i can find the name

Dont bother trying the Abalone porridge.
Overpriced n not that good.

People like the Pork Rice Soup: 돼지국밥 in Busan it seems
I didnt try it though.

At a Cafe called "Layered" in Seoul near Anguk station.
It is themed like a traditional English tea Cafe with scones and cakes.

Food is very good!
Highly recommended
