just wondering is this suitable for casual play? i've been watching videos on it and most of them are "complaining" about how you would get lost in Tyria with all the dynamic events happening around...

Afaik GW2 is really aiming to those casual players that's why they added the sidekick feature which boost your level to max when you join those competitive PVP's so even if you haven't played for a week or two, your level is still on par with your enemies. You can also level up your character by just playing pvp in the World vs World vs World, you get exp and items by killing enemy players. Some people are even planning to play GW2 purely in PvP.

Guild Wars 2 Quick Summary

Player Vs Enviroment - Casual (They are no raids therefore no competitiveness)
...................................................(World Firsts might be the only competitiveness)

Player Vs Player

World Vs World - Casual

Structured PvP - Hardcore / Casual ( Its more sided to hardcore but casuals can join in if they know their class well enough)

Cheers hope this helps :s12:

Ps. Your suppose to get lost in those dynamic events, there is no structured method of quest handing !

imo its pretty casual..

afaik, u go in, event happen, go kill, win event. no designated healer/dd/watever.
in dungeon loot and loot table is one for each player, so u will always get something usable.
alot of time u will be attacking in masses (WvW, events), so abit zerg fest but no one realli care if any one is healing and such.

unless u plan to do structured or pre planned battles then maybe abit less casual? but nonetheless u dun need to worry bout alot, mainly just dps i think

If it follows the way how skills were unlocked for PvP players in the older GW, it's not really that slow then, provided you have patience to keep dying and dying and dying ....:vijayadmin:

Yes gw2 is a casual game, but I'm sure it has long term goals aka reward titles. Some titles can only be earn easily during special like winter day, Halloween etc. while other may need some skills such as the survival title(earn few thousand number of exp without dying) and pvp delicated titles. For those who play gw1, I'm sure u know a lot of time is needed to obtain the title 'god walking amongst mere mortals' some will even take years..

Is my copy of Guild Wars 2 tied to my region?

Yes. To play from North America you must purchase a North American copy of the game. To play from Europe you must purchase a European copy of the game. Note that this restriction impacts where you can play from, not which game worlds you can choose to play on.

By purchasing the correct copy of the game, you're supporting the game in your country, and you'll be connecting to your local data center, using your local customer support team, and downloading the correct language support for your country.

Or..you could just purchase the digital copy from Arenanet™ themselves.
For those pre-purchasing on April 10. I think that's just a key and you download
game pack directly from their client servers.

Yap im.gona pre-purchase on the 10th.

Just hope that every zone is big enough so I won't feel so bored. I hate small and linear world.
