if we have been selling/exporting to usa, how is it hard now to sell the same to them?? all countries are taxed baseline 10% dude.

They can reduce consumption I.e. buy less

Other countries affected by higher tariffs would earn less, hence their spending power also reduce, so we will also sell less to them

Tariff is applied when goods exported from Singapore to US. US consumers pay 10% tariff when buying Singapore goods. How this affects consumers here? I dunno.

Lesser US customers buy so lesser profit. To recover from the loss of profit, mark up on selling price in sg which is passed on to sg customers... Since minister said be prepared, I can markup another 10% on top of what is already marked up.

We locals ,n maybe tourists the ones support businesses eg Fnb n retails. But can don't employ "talents " esp jiuhu,now even atb (jp d.iaso p.parade cashier )whom scrambled here intention to work easy attitude(some even down on locals) just to earn our $$$. But their service I can say sub par when u have locals whom even comparable or lower salaryin these positions
