sometimes is not everything about the correct mindset, it's because the promise of the company itself doesn't deliver, like forcing people to OT, disapproving of leave, biased politics on deployment, manpower, and monthly salary issues, I can say APO is a bit worst than a normal security officer even though the pay is high decent.

the culture of the company is important.

Every company & work has its problems. At the very least, APO companies provide a well paid stable job to be a breadwinner for many familes.

Kinda, but most people tend to call it a quit due to toxic environment, management politic and salary issued.

if so good, why till now those big 3 still lacking of manpower?! their Hr recruitment drive weekly advertising nonstop le? What does that mean?

Usually APO colleagues no problem to work with. It’s the management team who only listen to demanding client, create their own politic ground. Especially c, micro you until Gao Gao.

The company culture is important bro. If the company is good, people will stay. Simple

Sadly to said, this is totally true lol.

Maybe s will be the best to join rn ? due to someone said that their management team have change to a new management team.

A is still using old management team but bias toward malaysian. c is the worst due to alot of mico management to junior apo (like red team, certain test exercise on ground) If they don't trust their apo, why employing them? o_O :coffee:

Countries without human rights tend to overwork employees. I don't think even under mom and pdl no one is allowed to work more than 300 hours as Apo. No one complains as they are paid OT I guess.

Those quality measurement tools are requested and paid by clients, not Certis. It exists in all 3 APO companies. Just that C took it very seriously hence broadcast it.

Is a chicken and egg thingy. If no one do OT then manpower shortfall. People cannot take leave, go courses etc eventually lose contract then everybody lose job.

Anyone can suggest pay more, job redesign etc but are the clients prepared to pay higher costs? Even if the clients can accept higher contract fees, eventually consumers like us end up absorbing.

You sounds expert in this field. However you are half right.
After 2027, the concern is no longer manpower short fall.
Infact as i am typing now, the demand from the many clients out there has changed.

So what will be the demand from 2027 onward aka 4 years later?

I just quit from A last December.

Base on my experience it was really a tiring job as i stay in amk and had to go to one ulu west without proper access to public transport.

I was like most of you who joined for money as anything below than it would be tough for me to survive as im almost 45 and was unable to find job after i got retrenched.

Since i got degree went for Interview for Inspector..but got rejected as dont have police experience or at least 1 year experience as Apo....Kind of crap as i have 10 years experience in gov uniform group. And many Inspector who joined didnt have police experience also.

So yaya for Inspector.

I search jobs for 1 year before joining A but to no avail.

After joining A i came to a conclusion that i better join other jobs with lower pay.

I wake up at 4 am and reach home at 10 pm. My travelling time is 1.5 hours.

I had lack of sleep and mostly had headache and survived on few cups of coffee which didnt really help.

To make it worse have go shooting, Ippt, Pdt on off days. Sometimes TL change treat u mcm army..regimental...come on la...this is private or semi gov

Some people say this job no stress...sure or not...wait till something happen and you are there...gd luck on your bonus...security issues guys...some mistakes can cost you dearly

Very hard to get the two days off as always shortfall...and forced to do OT.

Damn shag and also faced family problems as unable to spend time and also unable to go functions and relative weddings.

And then i got posting at company which was better than the main site although the company was very ON also.

The problem is on your off days you have to support the main site which makes you damn shag.

The worst part of A was when i was down with Covid and hours were not given. I didnt manage to hit 264 and so didnt get the extra 700 bucks.....that month i was very tight. I got many mouths to feed.

When i enquire almost all companies didnt deduct single cents for covid but i felt companies should help coworkers during covid times!

I heard even C at least gave like hamper etc...not sure about S...A didnt help for covid !!

Within few months i decided to search for jobs...attended few interviews but no luck...rejected...

Almost lost all hope...Prayed very Hard and finally got a call and selected. Managed to get same pay and office hours.Quite lucky and so far so good.Got work life balance.

At my place had 3 new Inspectors who also quit within 1 year plus.

So this is my point of view....There are people who like the job also...But its not my type of job.

Gd Luck Guys
Just wondering are you doing similar job or change field ?

For those mid career changers, please talk to existing officers about the job before joining.

Wrong reasons to join
  1. Huge joining bonus
  2. Test water
  3. Looks cool
Some fun facts about APO
  1. Be ready for work 24/7 under rain or shine.
  2. Is normal to work continuously more than 1 week before your single off day.
  3. Need to pass IPPT, Shooting and other certification test annually.
  4. Expect to stand continuously for long duration e.g a few hours.
  5. You will gradually forget public holidays, weekends etc as you too used to see your shift calendar only.
  6. Be prepared to sacrifice your off day come back work to cover your colleagues.

Is not a job for the faint hearted. For those who feel it is an easy relax job. Many of the APOs are risking their lives everyday.

This is not the first incident already, the clients are very heartless, and give all the saikang to apo do( rain or shine). The SOP for the job scope needs to be reviewed for risk assessment. If not more incidents will occurred.

You serve NS b4 and with all your accolades I think you can try signing on for maybe SPF, SPS, ICA etc etc at least can straight away jump to inspector rank. Pay will be around 4k plus but then again Abit stressful lah because most likely you will be TL/DTL handling at least 30 plus ppl depending on where you are posted to. But at least your off day is your off day. Gov job high likely you won't be called back to do OT since you are not applicable for OT pay anyways.

If all else fails there's always APO.
