There have been a worldwide shortage of graphics cards and chips and scammers are taking the opportunity to cheat people who wants to get their hands on GPU. I believe a lot of people here have been scammed buying from Carousell. And I noticed now they're moving into Lazada and especially Shopee to sell. These market place shops doesn't have strict checks on their sellers.

I'm creating this thread so that people can post their questions and answers on some of the buyers they have genuinely bought from, if possible show screenshot of the transaction (who knows, the scammers may also post some fake posts here to trick) and details on the process and how you bought it.

Below are the list of scammers numbers compiled from different sources:

[Scam Alert]

Their graphics card prices:
ASUS RTX 3060Ti - $849 ASUS RTX 3070 - $1249 ASUS RTX 3080 - $1789 ASUS RTX 3090 - $2799

50% deposit and 50% to pay upon collection. Can pay at their shop.

Seller mentioned, their shop is at: 39 Jln Pemimpin, techgram computer services. However further check shows:
TECHGRAM COMPUTER & SERVICES
39 JALAN PEMIMPIN
#04-08
TAILEE INDUSTRIAL BUILDING
SINGAPORE (577182)
However no google reviews or even an entity in Google Map. Not sure how authentic this is.

Edit 20210329:
this seller gtechcs or techgramcs is getting really suspicious and i would give a higher warning of a scam alert now. Just saw this seller on shopee selling really cheap on the 3090. And it only has 2 items in his shop listing. Then it has a mining rig that sold for $2 with a 5 star review. Clearly showing he's trying to do fake reviews on his items. I would advise to stay clear of his carousell and shopee listing from now.

edit 20210329:
Mobile Number from his message:
Order 50% deposit. Once made payment please provide your name, number and email for invoice (for contacting purpose only once the fulfillment is here). Please use the Invoice number upon collection and pay the rest amount. ou can PayNow/PayLah! to 87594282 TECHGRAM COMP Please let me know once you done. And after that drop me your name contact no and email, thanks Thank you

A search from this mobile seems suspicious. Renovation contractor and at least 2 separate accounts from carousell. May or may not be authentic. But rather not take the risk.

edit 20210331:
seller just changed his mining rig product price to $5k. kind of unorthodox. Set a product at $2, buy it yourself with another account. Write a good review. Then change the item back to $5k. Thinking people who bought this at $5k must be authentic. Even if he's authentic, such practice is really despicable. Avoiding them at all cost.

edit 20210405:
just did a image search on some of the images he used. and it's awfully similar to how scammers are doing. His images are all taken from other shops and sellers. I've seen enough scammers' post to see the similarity. And with the number of posts from other members on the sellers' past, it's really suspicious. If you have bought, i would suggest to get a refund. I got a strong feeling you may not even get it or he'll try delaying. If you haven't bought, suggest not to. For all you know, he may have changed a new leaf and it's all authentic, but all these signs and news, i would rather not take the chance.

edit 20210409:
lots of users are reporting that his mobile is now turned off. Police reports are being made.

Looks legit but they'll processed your item as delivered even though it's not, due to limit by Lazada. And they mentioned they can refund even though the order is delivered. Anybody ordered from them and actually got the graphics card?

[Scam Alert]
Shopee seller: f3i6_a_kyp

Account setup 10 hours ago. All the products are graphics card. Selling dirt cheap. But looking at the description, it looks awfully the same as the previously suspended Shopee account.

Stay clear of this potential scammer.

Edit 20210330:
an image search on some of his product images also reveal that he simply took the photos from ebay US, furthermore confirmed that this seller is a scammer.

I posted on the ch3apn3asy thread the other day about this.

A quick search on his UEN showed that he has ceased operations on his sole proprietorship, which was registered as a provider of COMPUTER REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES, meaning even if he was still operational, no local distributors would entertain his requests to be an authorised reseller.

His ETA of 3-5 weeks for ASUS is also a joke, as ASUS ETA now is 18 weeks and up.

this is most definitely a scam. The prices are even lower than dealer prices, and despite their claims of being authorised "distributor", the units they post on FB do not even have distributor stickers.

They claim to be an international distributor who partners with big brands, yet do not providde an email, and only a whatsapp number linked to an IP number.

a quick check on their entity on ACRA shows that they're registered as a Management Services provider, and a quick check on their listed address shows that it's an office address shared by over 50 other companies. Most definitely an office-address for rent.

There's something really strange going on with certain distributors.

For example, I came across a guy who had 10 local stock 5900X and 5 local stock 5950X to sell, even though Corbell/Convergent claims that they do not take orders from resellers as AMD themselves are doing the allocation of stock.

Mind you, it's hard to even find ONE at sim lim, and even when u do it's marked up 500-600. So there's no way he could've bought it from Sim Lim. Strangest thing is, when I asked him using my alternate account where to pickup, the address he gave me was right beside Convergent.

Also, Corbell also says they not taking orders from resellers for MSI GPU's, but yet there are some sellers having them regularly, 3070, 3080, etc, and again at prices equal to or lower than SLS. My guess is they're actually resellers selling on alternate accounts to avoid being flagged for scalping.

Come up with your own conclusion, but I honestly believe that sales reps in these distros are either taking stock for themselves to scalp, or allocating stock to friends to scalp.

it seems like these scammers are really exploiting the current situation of long waiting time and practically setting up new accounts everyday to scam.

a few shopee account was setup 11 hours ago with similar pattern. Lots of products on graphics card with low prices and ready stock. And bicycles. He/she always seems to be exploiting in these 2 market. And trying to avoid search on their scam by "innovating" on their mobile numbers with adding "+" and "_" so it won't be detected from scam search.

good thing is that this thread is detected in google search, thus i hope whatever i post here gets detected and people will be aware of such scammers.

their usual pattern will be to ask you to avoid buying from shopee (even though it appears on shopee) and buy through their whatsapp and bank transfer.

hard to say since it's ebay. The reviews of all 5 stars is a bit too good to be true. No listing. And just a image search on that item, shows multiple products with the same image. So either the seller is lazy to take a real photo and just copy it from another posting, or its a scam. I won't take the risk though.

Looks like these scammers kept having their shopee account suspended. He created a few more account in shopee again. Using the same old pattern. Similar whatsapp number. Similar products. Similiar address. It's getting kind of boring actually. Looks like a daily thing that they're doing this. I'm beginning to think this may not be just a single individual scamming and getting similar to like those call centre scam with a setup and fake money mule accounts.

If you're seeing products with similar postings as those listed for scam alert by me, please avoid at all cost. Not worth taking the risk.
