How do you secure your wires to the floor?

Hello

I have some wires along the floor because I want to bring power to a side of the wall in a room. In my case, I use an extension cord from the all outlet, run the wire along the room, to the spot I need power. The wire stays put for most parts, but feels a bit of a hazard?

I can't/don/t want to use the hollow PVC wire runners and a friend recommended gaffe tape, but curious if there are other cost-effective options?

Thank you.

Previous place I gaffe tape them to the floor ( so it gets immobilised ) and then overlap a thick carpet to conceal them.

Why don’t you just get a licensed electrician to install additional power points on the side of the wall where you need them, rather than having cables run across the floor?

How much does that usually cost?

I paid about $100 per point point when doing renovation. Standalone, it's probably more. While you're at it, maybe run some in-wall/ceiling speaker wire if you need.

BTW, if you're staying in HDB, you can only hide such cables/wires in false walls/ceilings and not concrete ones.

No carpet so I just use curved trunking to prevent tripping over cable.
