hobbies really poison
buy starter got hooked will keep buying stuff to upgrade the starter or even buy new stuff to replace the starter...
Fish
When i first start fish keeping the basic 2ft tank, equipment, fish and chemicals cost abt $200 soon got hooked and spent a few more hundred on a planted tank
My appetite get bigger so move to monster tanks and spent at least 10k on the setup for Arowana, rtc, pacu, silver coin, luohan etc
over the years 5 digits on the fish hobby, starting managed to earn some money on breeding betta till new law appeared cannot sell pets without a license the mini business ended...
Cycling
2 mtb and 1 road bike about 5k
2k for upgrades, accessories, and protective gears
over the years give and take 6k, did sell away the mtb and roadie left one at home.
Camping/hiking
Noob but i just keep buying equipment that looks cool.
Tents, inflatable mattresses, backpacks, cookware/stove, tools, headlamp, shoes, walking poles, water purifier($200+ only used once in Malaysia), foldable solar panel, insect repellent, foldable water bottles, and more random stuff
Most of it alr spoiled and the rest was all kept in a bugout bag
end up only using 50% of the stuff on my ubin camping trips, alone don't dare go overseas.
over the years spent abt 3k
Got older then stop lavish spending on hobbies, home only left 1 tank, 1 mtb, and 1 bugout bag.
