Normally at dinner a good tactical choice is to drink Baijiu instead of Beer/Wine because wine makes you drunk quickly while beer makes you bloated and pee frequently. Also when other guests see you drinking Baijiu they know you are serious and won't anyhow toast you. How to drink Baijiu?
1. Make sure you have a bite of food on your plate. It can be anything, a prawn, a mouthful of noodles, a piece of meat, fish, or whatever. Also make sure you have a bottle of mineral water next to you to wash everything down. Food and water helps you to stay hydrated and absorb the alcohol which can be anywhere from 51% to 65%
2. Raise your glass to toast or acknowledge the person who is toasting you. Take a deep breath through nose and release through mouth. In one quick motion, drink! Don't let your expression change (bleargh, arrgh, etc.) And put the glass down. Immediately pick up your chopsticks and eat a small bite of food and then chase it with a quick swig (small swig will do, don't glug glug glug) of mineral water. Take a deep breath through nose and release slowly through mouth again to 排除酒气。if you know diaphragmic breathing you will know exactly what to do.
3. Expect to repeat 20-30 times throughout one dinner. Take toilet break and smoke whenever necessary and you will get through the dinner without fainting, vomiting or getting too high and making a fool out of yourself.
4. This is very important. Don't mix alcohol. If you drink Baijiu, drink Baijiu the whole night. This will help avoid next day hangover.
5. And of course stay safe. If you drink, don't drive!
