They are finally back!
Good to see them again. :)

Perhaps it's nostalgia speaking, but their phones the M7 and especially M8 were really solidly built!

As noted by Engadget, the HTC U20 5G will be available for pre-order in Taiwan starting July 1 for NT$18,990 ($640 USD) while the HTC Desire 20 Pro will arrive a bit sooner, launching on June 18 for NT$8,990 ($303 USD). There's been no official announcement about international availability, but Engadget sources have said that these launches are just a Taiwanese initiative, so you probably shouldn't hold your breath for a wider release.

Lucky that the RARE phone that does NOT use OLED is still here, as options are extremely limited for them.
(there are people who CANNOT stand OLED displays for medical reasons tbh.)
The unlucky part, it IS a Made in Taiwan phone. Which sadly could face issues coming into SG for GEOPOLITICAL reasons (Case in Point: Singapore MFA's letter to Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen's successful re-election campaign on 11th January 2020) whether you like it or not.

One interesting thing about the U20 5G is that it will still be manufactured in-house in Taoyuan, Taiwan, thus quashing earlier rumours of HTC abandoning all of its production lines. Still, the phone looks rather generic in today’s market (of copycats copying to and from each other, and similarly dumb customers buying from those copycats too, a deeply vicious cycle if you ask me).

Is it reserve the SD865 for U20+ since this U20 is using SD765.
According to Engadget report: 'The only upside (to Snapdragon 765G) here is that this is Qualcomm’s first chipset with integrated 5G (Snapdragon X52) modem, which in theory should translate to better power and thermal management.'
Unless HTC does something bold to switch to MediaTek's Dimensity 1000+ for powering its future handsets... or wait for 5nm SD875 to launch as it is expected to have the integrated X60 5G Modem.
