Ever considered maybe he really not feeling that good, maybe not due to cataract but other conditions?
And the weather had been quite hot lately. Why don't you try buying a cheap <$100 walking pad ( basically slow speed treadmill ) and see if he is willing to do some walking at home. Can even watch shows/movies while he walks slowly on it.

But I'm a piece of lucky char siew. Father is healthy but I cannot stand him due to character clash. Open mouth nothing good come out so I avoid him as much as possible. Sometimes bump into him, will avoid taking the same lift. I feel very uncomfortable to be in the same room as him, don't say lift.

why most ppl find elderly hard to take care or communicate with

but most ppl don’t mind take care of babies n toddlers or talking to them even though toddlers can barely speak a few sentences

Sometime they don't believe what the family member say.

As family member what we say will not harm them .

Believe those people at koptiam or Google .

I encountered the same problem as you. My dad said too tired to go out. He said I would know how he felt when I am his age. What he said struck me. Might be I didn't really know he felt. After that, I let him be.

my dad also. This morning keep sleeping. At first I brought him downstairs for a walk cuz my helper today off, so I brought him down. Awhile later he pooped into his diapers so I brought him home to clean up. Had to shorten the walk

after I helped him clean up, he just kept sleeping non stop. Poured water for him he also doesn’t want to drink.

later his urinary catheter gonna get stuck again. Then all the issues will crop up. Infection la, sediments blocking the tube causing urine to go to his diapers n pants la.

also he keep sleeping now. Later night time he cannot sleep , he will get frustrated n keep shouting non stop for few hours. Then end up I also cannot sleep.

then my sibling also doesn’t wanna help. At least drop by 2 hours help me entertain my dad so he doesn’t keep sleeping n coax him to drink water, also cannot. I have to multi task one man show

my dad doesn’t wanna do his part, just drinking water also don’t want. My sibling also doesn’t wanna do her part, come visit my dad 1-2 hours also don’t want. All just want to make my life difficult only.

So everyone, please, do your part and don’t make your family members’ life difficult please.
