Air purifier is basically a fan with a HEPA filter. OK, you can add activated carbon also if you want. But that's all it is. And for this, you want how many hundreds of $$$?

Problem in SG is DIY your own air purifier is also very expensive. Box fans in SG stupid expensive! And have to buy HEPA furnace filters from overseas, no such thing in SG. In the video, the TV news team made their own air purifier from a box fan and HEPA filter for 70 Canadian dollars, which is about SGD 72 today.

Thumb up to Dyson for having the b@lls to send an engineer to be interviewed by CBC.

Choices aplenty but the attractiveness in Dyson is obviously in the branding.

Anyway, in my experience, it's the ladies in the house that tends to get air purifiers. The guys will be more willing parties on the bandwagon when a newborn arrives.

What makes one think the small little container can suck air 3meter far from it? Might as well buy a HEPA vacuum cleaner, go around vacuum the floor is 1million times more effective than placing an air purifier lol
