Actually i doubt local distro will offer full refund.. :o

Got 1 to 1 exchange im happy!! :D

But of cos finger cross...hope local distro will offer full refund as another option...then maybe you can top up a bit to get the sabertooth since they also need to take back the problem mobo and pass u a gd one.

Anyway...i feel full refund a bit useless...they refund you...you go buy another mobo?? Cannot be sell SB liao cross back to AMD also...:s13:

maybe full refund in credits but can only use the credits on the distro's stuff? so ppl can trade up to better mobos. better business for distro and manufacturer alike. both consumer and distro gain. win-win situation, no?

...

Dear Mod,

Asus/Gigabyte/MSI statements already mentioned swap or sales return = refund.

How is it possible, not to have refund, by local distributors??!! :s11:

If really no refund, must at least offer trade up to Z68... =:p

Trade up is usually ok.
This is not the first time Intel get recall.
The last round was many years back on 820 chipset (when the RDRAM first introduced). I used one of them and gt trade up to another model (top up additional $).

The problem is how to get information in time. At that time I happen to saw the news at ASUS web site and I called up the local agent, and they told me to go down for exchange.

Ok, they refund you...then what will you do with the money? Buy another same one?

Maybe for those who wanna change to other brands might be happy with this option. :D

Like i said, wait for official words from local distro first. :D

Will the distros reimburse taxi fare on the day?
I think that is a good gesture to bring up since Intel is footing the bill.

I think will be 1 to 1 exchange...very unlikely refund coz they need to clear the fixed chipset as well and dun keep it in their inventory. What manufacturer need is money and not physical stock in their warehouse

If they "throw" prices for the current chipsets, I help to clear 1 unit for them :D

You can use all sata ports but with the Sata2 (3gb) u may experience problems in time, e.g decrease in performance up to a point where your drives won't longer be recognized by the bios. Thus you may connect ur drives to the Sata3 (6gb) ports as those are not affected. This is at least recomended for ur boot drive. If u hv more then 2 drives, u have to face the fact that ur mobo f***s up eventually.

I will go for an exchange as soon as the new batch is available.

Btw.

I called

Brand: Gigabyte
Distro: CDL trading
Status: Awaiting follow up from intel.
Address: CDL trading
115a Commonwealth Drive #03-10/12, Tanglin Halt Industrial Estate, 149596
TEL : +65-6473-4733
FAX : +65-6473-8813

They say customer to come down to them for an exchange 1to1 but only at the end of April at the earliest. They say it won't be any good to go to the local store. This is the crap with Singapore: the customer always has the shi t end of the stick with all the hassle, extra expense and time wasted. Now I need to go to CDL Trading :s27: Sigh...Thx Intel.

Cheers.
