IPv6 on PfSense WAN interface starhub

Hello, am abit of a PfSense noob here. I am currently trying to configure ipv6 on my wan interface. My ISP is starhub.

Current settings on WAN interface is:

Ipv6 Config Type: DHCP6
Prefix Delegation Size: 64
Send Prefix Hint: Disabled
Do not wait for RA: Disabled

Block bogon networks: disabled
IPv6 has been allowed globally.

All IPv6 traffic has also been allowed through the LAN, with default firewall rules on LAN

Currently it seems like I am receiving RA messages, and I am sending DHCPv6 Solict based on packet capture and Diagnostics log.
I remember seeing IPv6 Address on WAN in the past but seems to not be working now, no settings have changed other than a restart. IPv4 working fine.

Did Starhub's DHCPv6 server send any reply to your "solicit" message?

What I'll try is put a switch between the ONT WAN port and a different router, request for an IPv6 prefix, do a packet capture and compare it with your pfsense box.

I remember @firesong mentioning something about starhub IPv6 not working on pfsense, could be something to do with how the dhcpv6 client on pfsense craft the solicit message.

Based on packet captured, I only see Router Advertisments, DHCPv6 Solict from me and ICMPv6 pings between me and external router. No responses from Starhub DHCPv6 server.

Curious thing is at one point it worked on the WAN but on PfSense restart, no settings were changed. It lost it and now I cant get it back...

This seems to be the same as my experiences with pfSense CE 2.7 and 2.7.1 installation with new Singtel native IPv6 deployment (not fully deployed across all regions). Both worked once and never worked again. But in my case, the first part (DHCPv6 solicit is usually working but DHCPv6 request does not work).

You may want to disable "Block bogon Networks" as per @firesong and then try again. Please read other comments as well in the thread. firesong's issue seems to be different from yours.

Try changing your DUID type under advanced/networking.
The default is DUID-LLT, it was necessary to change it to DUID-LL for M1 so starhub may be similar.

Also seems you are getting router advertisements from 4 different upstream devices, would be interesting to see the contents of those packets (run tcpdump with -A -vvv -s 0"
