What kind of treatment are you referring to?
- You will definitely be paid lesser than poly dip and local degree grads.
- Don't expect to be in supervisory role when you graduate from higher nitec, unless you have a strong experience.
- But if score well in your higher nitec, you may attempt to further your studies in polytechnic.
- Do be aware that you may also be competing with WSQ graduates for jobs. :s22:

What is your highest qualification? O Level? ITE Nitec?

I have a diploma in design/creative field .... but not doing so well for me and I dont have a strong portfolio because most of my job scope only need my software support rather than conceptualizing/ design. I kind of lose my creative muscle...was thinking for upgrading or branching out, so looking for some affordable and not to long course/degree to take.

Is your diploma a polytechnic or private?

If polytechnic, you may wish to consider NYP Specialist Diploma in Hospitality & MICE Management.
Nanyang Polytechnic | Hospitality & MICE Management (Specialist Dip)

Or UniSIM BSc Facilities and Events Management
BSc Facilities and Events Management

If you intend to find back your creative muscle, you may consider,
SP Diploma (Conversion) in Digital Media Creation
Course Details | PACE | Singapore Polytechnic

Or NYP Specialist Diploma in Visual Effects
Specialist Diploma in Visual Effects

Or UniSIM BA Visual Communication with Business
BA Visual Communication with Business

Or UniSIM BSc Multimedia Technology and Design
BSc Multimedia Technology and Design

The only 2 institutions left are NAFA and LaSalle.
- NAFA offers top-up degrees from various foreign universities.
NAFA
- LaSalle offers foreign degrees validated by Goldsmiths, University of London.
Students - LASALLE

For me I feel that location is secondary. Important for me is to get the most rigourous and comprehensive degree education. :s22:

Hmm.... how about I give you my interpretation on what I think "they" are trying to say.

"They" hope that I don't "rush".
- If I am not ready for a good degree from a reputable institution, then don't. It could be due to any reason, location, cost, time, job, family etc.
- There are diploma level jobs that need my expertise and for me to fill in. Leave the degree level jobs to the university graduates.
- In the mean time, do my best at my job and occasionally go for short upgrading courses from the WSQ system, Poly system, NAFA/LaSalle or Local Uni.
MICE & Events WSQ / William Angliss Institute
Creative Industry WSQ
Part-Time Certificate Course - NAFA
Part-Time Enrichment Programmes - NAFA
Short Courses - LASALLE
- When I am ready for a degree, then go all out for a good education.
