@WussRedXLi, I'm thinking of getting some black KF94. Which one would you recommend, preferably among the Made in Korea ones? :)

Anything black from Mezzang. But the F801 has a small -ve of its front panel being pretty close to the lips, ie the front panel can touch the tip of the lips.

Else can try this one.

Air+ 2021 vs Air+ 2020.
2020 version managed to dig down to zero. Anyway, ambient is relatively low.

This also proves that flat surgical mask (media) is able to do zero, same as KF94.
Those flat masks that aren't able to do this, esp those running into several hundreds (pretty high), really not sure what happened to the meltblown fabric liao.

I wonder if it's a good idea to reuse the MIK KF94 by putting one of these good surgical mask as innner filter? Maybe cut out the surgical meltblown layer, not the whole 3 layers for better breathabilty.

Surprised surgical mask can protect the wearer so well too. Is this the only one?

If you put 1 extra layer, be it those inner ply spunbond or middle layer meltblown or even tissue paper, these materials would stick close to the lips/nose when you inhale, and it'd be pretty uncomfortable.

I have tried before with half mask respirator and N95s back in first half of 2020, doesn't really work.

Yes this is the only one if you are interested in using the media as a filter, in say a Gill mask. This is among the best....

But if worn as just a normal surgical mask on the face without any additional mods, the *as worn* filtration is is usually 60-70% at best, due to leaks at the sides. There would still be protection, but it'd be very short-term/minimal.

ie the same thing would happen even if you use KF94/N94 meltblown layer in a flat surgical mask. Still like 60-70%+ at best worn in stock form.

Many times, the way i see people wear their flat surgical masks on the street, i'd be surprised if it gives 50% filtration even......
Possibly 10-30% also can......

Bonus, it works like this in theory........just try to understand what the diagram below is trying to put thru
eg if delta takes 10 seconds to infect you in a maskless scenario (possible, already proven possible in epidemiological investigations, multiple cases.....these worst case scenarios are not common but it is not super isolated ), then with a properly sealed KF94 it might take 1000 seconds in a maskless scenario.
Or 1 min maskless, and 100 mins KF94 properly sealed
Or 5 mins infected pax masked, and 500 mins KF94 properly sealed.

Oh you mean the LG airwasher. Coz i dont know what is Ig. (instagram?) heh.... :ROFLMAO:

'Yeah like what Ender said, seems like the media resistance is pretty high.
In fact 3X higher than Good Manner KF94. And %!@$!@ blardy expensive.

The F731 is very close to the Good Manner, you'd be hard pressed to find a difference during usage in reality, other than feeling it to be a wee bit different in a direct A-B compario between F731 vs Good Manner.

66% @ 0.1 microns

So maybe can say that if 1 min exposure duration a delta case can infect you, you'd be protected to 3 mins duration with this.

Ambient levels higher than usual today. Mega test done!

Able to differentiate between the better measuring masks due to higher ambient levels.
