Sancho’s ‘head already at Man Utd’ as £120m deal edges closer
Jadon Sancho was reportedly on the bench for Borussia Dortmund, because his ‘head is already with Manchester United‘.
Sancho was among the substitutes as Erling Haaland’s brace ensured Dortmund would finish runners up in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich, who secured their eighth consecutive title with a midweek win over Werder Bremen.
The 20-year-old has scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists in the league this season as his reputation as one of the best young players in Europe has continued to soar.
The England international was among the substitutes for the first three games back after football returned, but scored a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over Paderborn on his first start since the resumption.
Sancho is United’s top summer transfer target, as they look to find a solution to their right-wing problem, but Dortmund’s £120million valuation is proving to be a point of contention.
But United’s pursuit and Sancho’s desire to move to Old Trafford was reportedly the reason for Lucien Favre opting to name him among the substitutes.
That’s according to German football journalist Heiko Wasser, who claims Sancho’s ‘head has been turned’ by United’s interest.
Dortmund had previously said that they would only allow Sancho to leave if the player forced through a move, and these rumours suggest that could be about to happen.
