Apologies if this has been asked before. I tried to search but I did not get any hit.
How can I implement filtering ( blocking ) for https sites for my AC87U router ?
It's mentioned in the Firewall section that https and website using compression technology cannot be filtered.
Is there a way around this ?
If not possible for this model, is there any newer model support https filtering ?
Your advice is truly appreciated.
ASUS RT-AC87U Firmware version 188.8.131.52.382.52230
- Fixed CVE-2019-15126 (Kr00k) vulnerability.
- Fixed some UI bugs.
- Support router certificate export. After import the certificate to the computer you will not see the warning message when login with https. Please refer to https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1034294/
But anyway, you can say RT-AC87U is a failed product from Asus due to the chipset used. It has probably never reached its full potential.
Another controversial Asus router is RT-AC88U, but at least some people like it very much even though some people have big issues with it. So RT-AC88U is not really a failed product like the RT-AC87U. And it at least supports AIMesh.
