Data is cheap now.
Managed speed is too constrainted.
Different people, different lifestyle.

Some want cheapest, without paying for extra data usage. Speed is of not a concern.

Then 6GB to unlimited plans are good.
For elderly who doesn't control usage or sometimes toggle off Wifi.
To young kids that teaches them, high speed within 6gb. Anything else after, you pray can work.

Just got my SIM card for the Starter. New num, popped it in and off it goes.

Tested on my spare phone, 40-60+ Mbps down, 15-20+ up. The data usage shown on their app and website seem pretty granular, though I've been hitting it with large file sizes. Will try another time with just messages and light webpages.

By the way, how is Zero1's billing cycle like? Does it start on a certain day of the month, or the day you activate the line? Can anyone advise?
billing cycle is fix at 22th of every month if I am not wrong

Yes correct. Comparing to last time the monthly plan price of $30 to $40 minimally. Nowadays a 50GB is as cheap as at $17 or even lower if with promo from MVNOs. No point saving the few bucks and to suffer for the month.

That's why there's 3 MNO and multiple MVNO..
Price plan from $0, $5, $6.90, $8, $9, $10 to $20+
Based on needs, choose what you want, and don't undermine the rest. They are there for their purpose.

There's the next area of prepaid cards.
Usually comes with free IDD, overseas Data Roaming, cumulative data/talktime.... And some even have cheap extension methods (hope it's still around), where a dollar or 2, extends your balance (cash balance or usage balance).

I got a reply from them which clarifies the cycle starting on 1st of each month, and auto-deduct on 8th. But thanks for sharing anyway.

Does data quota reset on the 1st of every month though?

EDIT: Got D/U of 90+Mbps/30+ on my newer main phone. Somewhat lower than what I got on my Circles (M1) line (180/60+), but that's the $0 Flexi only 1GB data to play with, and ST network has slightly better coverage.

Looking for some PRO advice as I saw this in the FAQ:

When does Zero1 charge my Credit Card?

Deduction from your credit cards as follows:

(Base on date of activation with prorated charged on top of your upfront payment of 1 month)

Billing CycleBC01BC08BC15BC22
Billing Date01081522
Deduction Date08152229

I emailed Zero1 and they said customers cannot choose their billing cycle. I would definitely prefer to be on Billing Cycle 01 which I believe means my data and talktime cycle resets every 1st of the month.

Does this mean I should only activate my SIM card after 22nd of April so I will be under BC01? (I just got the Collection Notification today and it allows me to collect within 4 weeks from today).

Thank you in advance PROs for your advice!

Interested to know this as well. But the activation will only trigger after collection of SIM card and not automatically after a few days for customers who are porting over?

I’m collecting at SingPost and they didn’t need me to specify which. So my guess is my SIM card is only coded on the spot and only activated one business day later.

im taking a new number but from what I read, even for porting over, the port over date happens 1-3 days after SIM card collection.

6.90 plan ending or here to stay?
Just apply when U need it. Even if it goes away, there are plenty of close choices like Myrepublic, TPG Senior, Starhub Senior.

Zero1 has not replied my email on whether if I activate my SIM card only after 22nd April, I will definitely be on BC01 (resets every 1st of the month). Maybe they don't want everyone to do it and they end up with concentrated payments. But I think it's a fair assumption to get yourself on BC01.

i think this zero1 currently is the cheapest. i currently using 2x 1gb free circlelife card. 2gb every month more than sufficient for wfh.

they only start charging on the activation date?
