I got the NAS to power up.. but blinking orange LED. All HDD solid green

I found out y... my WD 4TB.. which i just bought 2mth ago crashed!

Anyone using Synology NVR models? looking at getting NVR1218 model, anyone using this model? any issues or not? TIA.

I don't ever use hibernate mode. What are the use cases?

Yes, since day 1 i am using hibernate mode.

It works well with any hdd except RED.


I doubt you have actually read properly

Maybe the old WD reds are fine as 2 of my 5yr old WD reds are gone so switching to Toshiba now. Just realised that I have not unticked hibernate mode over these years.

hi guys, does anyone knows how to setup vpn on the synology nas?
i have managed to connect my vpn to the service provider via control panel > network > network interface?

now what should i do on my client PC?

saw the pricelist for itshow. seems like 8tb is the sweet spot for value. Also notice toshiba has a server class hdd MG series quite value for money as well.

Yes, 8TB HDD is a sweet spot. As for Synology NAS, better off getting cheaper from Lazada than IT Show.

That's all. It has nothing to do with your client PC.

i wish to access the drives when i am outside of the LAN. Another alternative is use quickconnect but i am trying open photos for editting via photoshop

Shouldn't u do it on your router directly instead?

Last i recall Synology VPN is not a server type
