Hi folks,

Currently on M1 CIS, and contract has expired.

Need to help my mother get onto SingPass as she has no handphone. My phone already has the SingPass Mobile app.

If I get a 2nd cheap phone and a new line, it is kind of wasteful, just to do her SingPass thing? I am not the type that carry 2 phones around. The phone will just be in the cupboard and taken out only when need to use her SingPass.

Can one dual-SIM phone support 2 different persons' login to SingPass or would the app go mad? :p

2nd phone die die need to have a different number, else won't work for SingPass.

Any ideas?

Willing to switch to Singtel if they have some schemes that can better support.

TIA!

Since you're on M1 CIS, if you recontract, you can signup for the mySIM s at $6/mth. Share your existing mySIM e 40/70/90 (note: mySIM e 118 and Enterprise Mobile plans are not eligible) with your mum.

If you don't want to spend much money on a phone, can get an old Android / iPhone from marketplaces (just make sure it works fine, and change battery in case), let her use.

MIUI has dual APP features, or Second account,
I am not so familiar, but it definitely can have two accounts set up under same App.

Can't find such on my Mi A2, is it for samsung phone? Thanks

See below. Hope it will be useful.

What is Multi-User SMS 2FA?
We recognise that there might be a group of users without personal mobile smartphones or computers. These users may rely on a trusted family member or caregiver to help transact digitally with the Government.

The Multi-User SMS 2FA feature allows this group of users to link their account to another person’s mobile number for the sole purpose of receiving the SMS One-Time Passwords (OTP). The primary user of the mobile number will receive the secondary user’s SMS-OTP as a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) when the secondary user is making transactions that involve sensitive data.

Primary users will not be able to see what the secondary user is transacting on nor receive any government-linked mailers or notifications on behalf of the secondary user.

4.
How can I sign up for the Multi-User SMS 2FA service?
Both the primary and secondary users of the mobile number are required to present their NRIC/FIN to verify their identities and consent to the terms of the arrangement at any of the Singpass counters islandwide to activate this option. A video call can be arranged with the Singpass Helpdesk for users who are not able to visit our Singpass counters.

Primary users can link their mobile number with up to five secondary users. However, as a security feature, the secondary user’s account can only be linked to one mobile user at any one time.

This arrangement of having both parties present to verify their identities and consent to the terms of the Multi-User SMS 2FA setup is necessary to safeguard the interest of our users and to avoid any potential misuse.

For counter locations, please visit go.gov.sg/singpass-counters.

To schedule a video call with the Singpass Helpdesk, please contact support@singpass.gov.sg or +65 6335 3533.

@keenklee, I'm well aware of this but as you can see it's not straightforward especially if it involved more than one family member.

Hopefully the Dual app or Second Account feature will work, still awaiting for new singpass password to be send.

The FAQ mentioned users.
If you have more than one family members e.g. two, dual app or second account will only work using another mobile device with plan.

Have not try second account feature but for dual app, it simply mirrored another environment on the same device w/o the need to reinstall Singpass app. Now I got another Singpass icon which I can enter another account, just awaiting the password. I have 2 SIM card on the mobile if this is a requirement. Thought I checked in advance with those who I tried this method.
