I wonder on PC system which is your favarite player for the netflix be it browser (Edge/Chrome) or Netflix windows app?

I prefer the Chrome & Netflix windows app due to brighter HDR color, although Edge browswe show more HDR support in most title but it is slightly dim compared to Chrome & Netflix windows app.

Since Netflix increases price and ceased acct sharing…..I canceled my subscription liao.

Now I rather run my own “Netflix” (aka PLEX server) which also comes with Dolby ATMOS and Dolby Vision, then stream to all my family members through a reverse proxy (over https) or WireGuard VPN.​

Netflix windows app, it has 5.1 sound for my 5.1 speakers.

It's just a stream server/client application.

You host your files. It transcodes for you and transmits.

Then the client-side application receives and does the playback for the user.

Obviously, you know where people get their files illegally .

Legal not legal. Totally up to you.

Doubt you never heard before. Can try Jellyfin/Emby too.​

Correct. Netflix only authorised certain branded media players (nvidia/apple etc) with full DRM protection to stream 4k and 1080p content. All other regular devices including China android device can only stream 720p unless they managed to bypass the DRM protection

I dun use the pc for 4k HDR/DV Netflix content. But you can verify by playing the video (on app or browser) then press ctrl+alt+shift+D.​

If I really wanna watch Netflix to the fullest. I just use my tv with the build in Netflix app that comes with it.

The only difference is my old Bose Soundtouch 300 do not support Dolby Atmos. So I'm limited by my speakers. I do get the regular DTS HD and Dolby TrueHD only. Aging speakers and definitely still going well...

Tv do get 4k 60Hz. Which I pretty much enjoy it. But not all contents have 4k 60Hz. Most/Majority movies are still at 23fps/24fps lol.

As for laptop, I also just use the windows Netflix app. As I do swipe around finding shows on my laptop touch screen. As for the chrome browser the touch is not the best lol.

I am usually an amp + floor stand speakers HT set up person, but due to wifey's low approval ratings, decided to replace with SONOS ARC + 2x ONE + SUB setup last year. Now I am convinced that it is one of the best-sounding (and convincing) ATMOS compact soundbar setups in a living room with limited space.

If you are looking for a living room setup. You can give it a try and audition at Orchard Courts showroom. If interested, do buy online when there is a sale.​

Many thanks, I am actually eyeing for Sonos arc 2, I read that the first gen arc have sudden loud pop sound when turn on, may I know if you experience this loud pop?

None from mine.

Not sure is it because I never physically switched them off at the plug. I kept my soundbar system and tv constant on (sleep) and back by UPS to protect from my wifey's power trip from the oven. ​
