Hi.

I am using a full ubiquiti setup as well.
On M1 1 gbps.

USG
US-8-150W
UAP-AC-PRO
getting the cloud key gen2 plus.
planning to get a nas when my current setup is full.

My USG is pretty warm. Anyone using this has the same experience?

Can share what are some of the setups to optimise performance?
My RPI and ER3 Gets warm as well. Ended up pointing a USB fan at the stack which solved all problems :)

Usually the POE switch is warmer than USG..

I gotten a USB fan to cool both of them, and the most optimal cooling is actually placing them vertically as per their ventilation holes... convection current would take its course, even if you do not have a fan below..

now both of them are cool to the touch..

Anyone have any cooling option for

1. US-8-150W
2. Cloud Key Gen2 Plus

Both item are inside my network riser. And i check via monitoring.. they are both running hot.

Cloud key is @ 60c and Switch is @ 68c

Throw in some usb cooling fans as mentioned above. Tested and proven.

60-70c not critical temperature. Your equipment won't spoil one

those temperatures are fine but if you are concerned, just use a normal USB fan to blow some air across the devices..

Is it hard to configure the USG for local ISP like MyRepublic?

Hi All,

I'm thinking of trying this set of routers. Currently on Orbi Mesh and unimpressed with its coverage.

Is there any local vendor and support for the equipment? I'm not IT savvy so would need help in replacing my current Orbi mesh router systems.

Cheers,
P

Updated the arrangement a bit and also added a AC infinity fan at the top of the rack. Problem free and don’t even need to do anything to it administratively for the last 4 months or so.. Ubiquiti FTW!

Run a cat 6 cable to the spot.

The AP comes with a mounting which you may screw onto the fast ceiling. The AP is then attached to the mounting.

My false ceiling is only 1 or 2mm thick. Will the screw hold?
