When i was choosing my business schools, my mentor gave me this analogy.

On the scale of practical to theorical, the 3 unis stand:

__SMU_____________NTU______________NUS_____
Practical Middle Theoretical

Apart from their teaching pedagogy (teaching styles), you might also want to consider:
- School fees (NTU is arguably "cheaper" for the shortened course span)
- Distance (Where do you stay? Distance is a consideration for some people who typically stay in the East / North and NTU is further than NUS)
- Prospects (Do you want to be an academic or practitioner?)
- School culture (As much as it might be trivial, this is important to determine if you can eventually enjoy your 3-4 years in school or just dread going to school everyday)

Those are some factors that i can think of. Hope that helps and all the best.

P.s. I'm from SMU business so i guess i'm not the best person to give you an insight of what NUS & NTU business are like. My friends in NUS Biz and NBS seem to be enjoying themselves. You really should ask around to find out which is your cup of tea. :)

Really? Personally I don't feel NTU is less theoretical than NUS.
People who have done local exchange seem to have the same feedback.

Unless you have serious financial constraints, I do NOT recommend that you make your decision based on this.

This thread is about NUS vs SMU, but I think it might give you some insights -

Thank you Iaswhy and BharatBenz.

I am actually looking for a school that gives me an edge over my peers- as i plan to work in the investment banking sector that edge is crucial.
The points Iaswhy raised are super valid and i feel distance and school fees not really a game changer, but the prospects and school culture is really important.

From what i heard, NTU is a school with plenty of foreigners and many of my peers are hesitant to enrol there. But the 3 years direct honours is very tempting. Would appreciate help to clarify these points greatly :D

Definition of better:
1. Gives an edge over the other school (time, academic curriculum, overseas exposure and internship opportunities)
2. School culture (I aim to be very involved in CCAs and have a ball in Uni!)

In nbs, 80 to 90 percent are locals. If u wan to go IB, ntu has the most alumni in many of the IBs. Some banks, half the team were from Nbs. But its not easy. U must be a all rounder. High gpa leadership qualities and relevant experience would be best.

Thank you GloveK8 this is very useful for me ^^
By all rounder do you mean active in campus life (e.g CCAs and Hall participation) as well?
