Oh so they offered you a placing but you ended up going NTU? What made you go ntu? :)
Yeap :spin: Well.. I chose NTU over NUS cos...

1. I don't have to take QET (my GP grade is kinda sucky so..)
2. I want to experience how living in hall is like. All year 1s are guaranteed a spot in hall if they apply for one in NTU. It's kinda compeititive over at NUS I heard.
3. I think NUS is more competitive than NTU (?)
So i guess I'm kinda on the losing end by entering FOS with a grade that's below the 10th percentile of the cohort :s22:
4. I prefer the first-come-first-serve system over at NTU for choosing your modules.
5. NTU offers you direct honours (it can be good/ bad depending on your results tho)

That's about all I guess :s22:
Oh ya, which course are you looking at?

Sent from my potato using GAGT

Received an offer for NTU's Sociology today! I have a strong feeling SMU will admit me into their social science course as well. Now the dilemma is which uni to enroll in, NUS FASS, NTU Sociology or SMU Social Sciences (if I'm accepted)? Anyone can give me an insight? Hmmm...........

Hi I'm in the exact same situation as u too hhaha. Just received acceptance from NTU Sociology yesterday.

I would prefer NUS FASS because I can still experience the different majors before deciding on which major to take. But NTU has direct honours and confirmed hostel for year 1s (I want to experience living in hostel)

It really depends on which university u prefer more I guess?

Anyone knows whether what's the diff between the range of specialisations available in business course in nus vs majors offered in the course in ntu and smu? Like specialisations and majors are they the same?

Hahaha yeah i heard that generally it gets quite competitive in NUS..across all aspects :spin: but i like the seemingly more vibrant lifestyle i came across during previous open houses which made me lean towards NUS. I applied for NTU Econs and NUS fass first choice, faculty of science is a backup just in case haha. Oh i didnt know NTU didnt need to go for QET! But luckily i managed a C for GP so.. :D
So what course are you currently studying in NTU?

As long as you passed your gp, you won't have to take any extra english modules in NTU :s22:

I'm currently studying math at NTU :s13:

This may be stupid but generally - the longer it takes for them to give you your application outcome = the higher chance of rejection?

I would say yes higher chance of rejection due to the likelihood of being placed on the waiting list where your status would be like processing and then >< experiencing tormenting waiting!

Okay that isnt good haha..played too much in poly? :D

Well, told you so. Hahaha, nope it's more of struggling in that course instead. I actually took a gap year & started working so I'm hoping that I can get in through DA due to my relevant work experience + my volunteer involvement which I've included in my DA essay... :/
