One of the most important reason why Deepseek is so successful is basically just one simple reason. It is very accessible and free to use with no limit (not that I experience the limit) which include its advanced model (Deepthink, which is incredible which imitates how human, or it therefore, will think to achieve good answer), and one can integrate using its API a way cheaper cost than established offerings. It is just another Chat system that ready to use, no need to configure with messy configuration. This creates a very good branding.

Honestly I didn't care how advance it is or is it open-source as long as it is free to use and good enough for own use. Everyone can use Deepseek, no need to register using China verification system like most China-made Chatbots (eg baidu). I will have ignored Deepseek has it not been so accessible and generous.

if the biggies try to match Deepseek’s pricing, they will be digging a even bigger hole cos as it is now, they are operating at a loss

deepseek method can be deployed anywhere. it is just openai o1-o3 secret disclosed. this means also that the ROI for hoarding nvidia gpus for those big companies has potential to become much higher. y would the big boys suffer?

i used gemini advanced preview-exp-1206 and 1.5pro (paid) and deepseek to code a simple html calendar.

guess which AI did it at first try with no errors? the other one failed badly, and need 5 more prompts to get it right.

The one that first try no error is ChatGPT, because you not using it, therefore no errors.
