Just move your camera out of harms way...

A lens hood on a UWA won't do shiet to protect your front element anyway.

Sometimes crowded area... Even with lens cap on still put lens hood on to prevent anyone from knocking onto front element directly

looks like your lens need to bump into something straight on, then you will realise why lens hood is important.

Never had a lens hood..

But any lens hood won't do jack to protect the front element from sharp objects..

replace the 18-55 with a 16-35L.

see if you will say the same thing or not.
