Hello guys. Last month I posted if ehiem 2213 is strong enough for a 3ft by 1.5ft by 1.5ft tank. Most of you said it's fine becos my fish stock is low and it's quite planted.

My tank now has 3 otos, 1 angelfish and 4 albino corys. 1 cory has grown to be abt 2.5 inch big. The rest are still abt 1 inch only. They are still surviving. These are from my old tank.

I have also added 5 blue rainbowfish, 1 bristlenose pleco and 12 white cloud mountains. I am lucky that my angelfish doesn't really bother the smaller fishes. In fact with all the activities, it seems to come out more often from hiding.

Questions: Is my tank overstocked? The blue rainbows are very active swimmers and greedy too. I have to overfeed so my other fishes can get food but I'm not adding new filter. The ehiem is abt 3 weeks old and there r dirt in the tubes already. Is it too fast to have such symptoms? I do abt 10 to 15% water change weekly.

i would say it's ok, until i saw your pleco. plecos produce a lot of waste, so it might be a good idea to get the biggest filter you can afford. always good to overfilter.

fish keeping is first and foremost about water quality. take care of the water, and the fish will take care of themselves (with feeding, of course).

Wah, they put in those small tanks which does not come with filter, think I must go get a small aquarium with those built in filter?

get as big a tank you can within your space and budget.
its easier to keep fish with a bigger tank.

as for filter, can DIY. cheap cheap only.

I will advise you to go for Eheim Pro 3(2275) or Ecco Pro 300.
Thanks all for the reply. I saw someone selling 2nd hand ECCO 200. Can replaced eheim 2213? Tubing wise seems like all same.

Not that difficult.
There are many videos on the net showing step by step how to do it.

That is Iwagumi aquascape.

It takes a lot of practice and trial and error if you're doing it yourself but it's fun.

If you want a fast route, get an expert to do it for you first. That will make the learning curve a lot shorter.

Mind you, the stones are not cheap.

That is brown algae.

It's okay but I know, it's ugly.

Try to keep away lights from it.

You go and look at Ecco Pro 300 specs. If you want to get 200,might as well get 300.Flow rate is more than 200.

2213 need to self prime.Ecco Pro 300 is auto prime one.

Priming Eheim canister filter is easy when using gravity. No effort at all.

Classic series need to suck the pipe to prime the water flow.

Remembered the times I had tank water in my mouth and swallowed some of it.
