They look cute! And small enough for my tank. Know which shop sells them? I been to sea view last week. Dun think I see this.

I'm also using gravel. Not sand. Suitable?

Sand is preferred, but i've kept them with fine-type gravel for a few years with no problem.

Can try places like Fishy Business, Aquatic Avenue etc.

Hi guys, I am looking at two different barb fittings, one is 16mm, the other is 20mm. What size tubing should I get for both fittings?

Thanks!

Better than Eheim Pro series?

How about 1800 for 3 feet tank?

I find it easier to "open" as compared to Ehiem based on the video demo.

For 3 feet tank, i think you can ask the owner. I didn't study into this filter much.

Larger sized tetras are fine. Small ones will become fish food, esp when your Angelfish gets to adult size.

Bottom feeders like corys are fine too. The angels won't disturb. In any case, they are too wide for the angels to swallow.

I'm keeping a shoal of congo tetras with my altum angels. I think large sized rummynose tetras and cardinal tetras would be fine too.

Smaller fish like endlers, and dwarf rasboras will be makan-ed.

You can check out specs for Pro 3 and Pro 4 series.

https://www.eheim.com/en_GB/products/technology/external-filters

Note that each one got it's own small tab. For 3ft, I don't go for singular filter. I believe mine was eXperience 350. Now you need to generate water flow, yet be able to circulate the water and provide some kind of water flow, water flow should be gentle and constant, you don't want to blow up the entire fauna.

Sponge filter if you wish to provide some kind of air pump facility. But if you can achieve total Eco Balance, then air pump is not required. Air pump tends to help lower water temperature beside providing more oxygen. HOF is another one I added, GEX Slim filter L type. Makes cleaning of water surface easier. I can maintain it easily as well.

All in all, how you going to do this might differ. It is pretty much up to you.

Okay I mentioned CFL lighting before. Well, don't limit your imagination.

It is possible to make lighting cheap and easy to replace.

$20 budget means you'd have spare lamp as well.

if one clips it on side of tank, wouldnt it be too close to the water?

Up to you. De-ttachable if you loosen the clip on top. The plastic clip although looks very hardy, 2-3 years, it will break because of constant exposure to the aquarium water.

If dettach, you can cable tie it to some stand of your own liking. It is pretty DIY-able if you ask me. This is call the Pasat Malam lighting. Often you see RamLee burger stalls, they use them.

The tank does not seem very qualifying as planted tank due to the black patch there, I can tell you that.

: > How about getting another tank?
