Tds n ph

I have a separate probe for temperature (top left) from scaping days but never look at it one 😂

How much did you get the machine with the blue backlight?

That is a PH and temperature 2 in 1 right?

once we get the hang of it, we don't have to look at these parameters anymore unless something happened.

Do you need to run it on batteries or electrical power?

Electrical one ,
Total dissolved solids shrimp keepers monitor this
But this is actually a lazy way for me to see how “dirty “ the water is

But must take not the base value will never be 0 or even close unless u distilled all the way.

For example if I did more frequent changes the base value after WC is about 150++ tap water is 80-100 . Now I do weekly and feed slightly more it’s about 180-200 after wc
End of my week before water change is 300

If adding salt and chemicals will also raise the figures so it’s not really accurate but a alternative to monitor

Half salt and freshwater?

What's TDS?

yah Brackish water.
like most FW puffers, scats, mono, archer fish these will need to go into brackish when adult.
Supposedly can "convert" but most are divided on these and no one is doing any good studies or good result since this is not impactful i supposed.

Just as there is converted FW GT and bumblebee grouper
personal opinion is the shorten lifespan that these converted fishes have is still much longer than the owners attention span

What is your favorite tetra?

My first love was Glowlight tetras but keeping Ember tetras now.Kept Lemon tetras too.

I am looking to get back to Glowlights once my 120 Embers are gone.

Anyone tried breeding tetras before?Seldom heard of people doing it.

My mum only allowed me to have a 2 feet tank.Vowed to have bigger tanks once I got married and moved out to my own flat.

Looking to merge Central and South American river inhabitants on a 4 feet tank someday.
