No need la.
I do walk around in crocs.
Of course a good pair running shoes also can do good.
Just that when i go caoling, earlier time i went with Chaco sandals.
Then slowly bo chup liao, wear crocs.
My first time to caoling was in 09 march.
Then few years do one time.
Since my frequency there is far more common than any.
as one grows older, injury recovery rate will be much slower. so avoidance is the best policy. anyway up to u, your feet your life :)

When young, they never think of old. When old, keep telling young what is right but few people listen.
I'm early 50 start to have kneecap and feet problem. In case you are interested, Thorne Meriva - SF is good, main ingredient is curcumin phytosome.

Yilan - Hualien - Taipei

good idea? any must go for solo?

why dont u start from hualien first then u go north to taipei? vice versa works too.

hualien is pretty much standard with 太魯閣, 七星潭 清水斷崖

theres alot of other places outside of hualien city (southwards) but think its a big tad too far.

yilan has quite alot of places of attractions, if i break down yilan into its various places there’s
礁溪 — hot springs
蘇澳 — cold springs and ocean view
羅東 — famous night market 羅東夜市
三星 — famous for its spring onion fields 三星蔥
lots of animal farms scattered around the area too, theres also the kavalan distillery tourists love to go too.

no recommendation really, depends on what u like (ocean versus land, do you like hot springs, other considerations too)

because from taoyuan to hualien is quite a long journey, likely i will land late at night, so yilan is the closer option

yeah fair — there are public buses that bring you to yilan directly from taoyuan airport too. timetables can be googled quite easily :)

unless u can rent a scooter / bike in hualien city, this i cant provide details / recommendations
