Hi, I’m planning a trip to Taipei and would like to visit Shifen this time. I’ve always been worried about missing the last train back to Ximending, so I ended up skipping Shifen on my previous trips. May I ask:
  1. How much would it cost to take a taxi from Shifen to Ximending?
  2. Besides releasing sky lanterns and visiting the waterfall, what other attractions or activities are there to do in Shifen? Thanks in advance .
Do u have a driver's license? If so , there are many things to do and sights near Shifen and Jiufen off the beaten path. U can even stay a night near Keelung. Alot of beach cafes nearby the coastal sights.

I would drive out there just to enjoy a cuppa joe at a beach cafe and hike to some scenic view anytime there is good weather.

Slipped my mind that there's our resident guide @dreamcast18 to loop in for advice. 🙏

Depends. If redeem the tickets at thsr website, can choose seats. If redeem at station, then cannot choose first.
I booed from Klook. Reserve at thsr website. Doesn’t look like can reserve seats or I’m missing it?

Any good recommendations for travel agencies in Taipei or Singapore that organize land tours from Taipei to Kaohsiung and back? Thanks
