Is a single 8pin to 2*(6+2) pin connector sufficient to power the 5700XT? Im using a EVGA G3 750W PSU and I was hoping to keep things simple by powering with just a single power connector daisy chained at the GPU end rather than having to use 2, 8 pin to 6+2 cables.

The limiting factors are the size of the wires used in the 8pin cable and your PSU output. 750W G3 should have more than sufficient power. unless EVGA cheapens out and give you very thin wires in those cables.

The PCIE slot provides up to 75W but from some reviews, it seems the 5700XT may only draw a small amount from the slot and mostly from the aux power connectors. So we are looking at maybe 250W or ~21A +12V from that cable.

I don't know off hand how many wires are connected to the 6pin but assuming 4/4 from the main 8pin is split evenly, there will be 2/2 per connector. Each will carry about 10-11A which on a quick lookup should be at least 20AWG or thicker.

If EVGA gives you good 18AWG wires then it should be fine. If 20AWG or smaller wires used, then wire resistance might possibly cause an issue if the +12V voltage is already at the low end of spec limit.

My PC Vega 64 Red Devil is hooked up to my PSU with the supplied PCIe cable with 2x 6+2 pin connectors (Corsair HX1000 Platinum) to the card, no problem gaming, no stutter, freezing or anything. It did occur to me to use another PCIe cable, but so far having no issue using just that one PCIe cable.

Edit - I dunno how accurate MSI AB is, but playing UT3, it shows GPU only power draw to peak at 262W, but is easily around 250W+ constantly. This is from that one single PCIe rail to 2x 6+2pin plugs.

Likewise for me, I am using a single wire to supply power to my GTX 1080 Ti. PSU is a Corsair RM750x. Which is why I feel if the manufacturer is confident of supplying a cable with 2 x 8pin PCI-E power, generally it should be within the tolerance level.

For 5700XT users.. do u guys notice at certain shadow option for some there seems to be crash? in my case i play BDO with OSSA on.. my gpu clock hoot to 2400mhz.. and crash my system.. disable ossa seems fine..

i think the clock boost algorithm need some work.. in WWZ Tokyo map 1 if using vulkan ultra setting with RIS on will feel the stuttering cause gpu clock is like 800mhz nia.. when switch to dx11 its fine..

600W psu enough juice for 5700XT or risky?

Should be enough.
My office gpu cluster one of the rack the servers are running on 4x RTX 6000 with 1600W Platinum Tyan PSU, also using same PSU on other racks with 4x RTX 2080Ti

why not rma it?

eh rma means replace a new one for you? I am a first time builder though.

I tried to see what is causing the crashes, am i doing it correctly?

System specs:
Brand new Ryzen 3600 + 16gb ram corsair vengeance + seasonic focus plus gold 650w + B450 tomahawk max

I uploaded the dump files here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10-LMKGx84AOV1EHxJIug720zoKAKTQYh

On googling, atikmdag.sys is referring to amd while watchdog.sys refers to drivers, meaning can i pin-point that the rx 5700xt pulse casuing my bsod?

Also, googling shows that BSOD is usually a hardware failure related? is this true? Means my graphic card gonna spoil?

My distributor is B&H, so just bring it down to them? So rma only can do it once right?

Thanks

base on dump is ur drivers relating to ur gfx card got issue.

u can rma multiple times within the number of warranty period given by them. they will check for you and diagnose. 1 for 1 but depends on stock availability

hmmm is it random bsod or when you do certain activities.

for me when i gotten my RX 5700 XT, the first drive always bsod on 2 kind application runs, Web browser and Gaming. As someone mention here before, disabling some function helps. Anyway i went for the current optional driver and works fine til now.

In short, if it is random, RMA might helps. Though using one power cable to the card is okay, you might wanna try 2 cable setup to eliminate powering concern. I oso think clean install the driver might help, do not know if you tried or not.

I updated the drivers about 3 times since I bought it and I inserted 2 cable setup as well.

So far gaming i disable the free sync settings etc as recommended by reddit.
set pci 3.0 no msi burner.

The blue screen occurs when i use vlc or browsing web/ writing email (turned off hardware acceleration?). For gaming is more of sluttering and screen lines jerking when i alt tab for example.

Also, when I shutdown the screen hangs and go into BSOD.
Occasion hangs and fps drop to 1 e.g. cut scenes from gears of war 5.

dunno how u tehan so long, if me ill just go back shop 1 to 1 (1 week warranty policy), if not go distro rma.
