Two of my friends doing it. I think it is stupid.
Both are not poor. They are condominium owners.
It seems doable but you live with the silly inconvenience.

Cheapest fiber is only 24-25$ per month.
Cheapest 4g plan from eight is 8$. Need to buy 200$ router also. How much you can save per month? Less than 10$ for 2 years.

$16 * 12 =$192.00 per year
Assume $240 for router
$240 / $192 =1.25 years to break even

:(
For me I base on $31 bb plan, so savings is $23 per mth

$23 * 12 =$276.00
$240 / $276 =0.87
Less than one year break even 😆

1 pax. TV, laptop, phone and security camera.
Can try lah, moral of story is don’t get so expensive sim router :(

keep your original router in case older devices cannot connect to newer wifi network (6e/7). Can do bridge mode to get connected to the old router

Ya not going to get those expensive ones. 4g LTE router is enough.

Do you know whether it supports Simba or Eight sim cards?

The difference between using 4g vs broadband is really like day and night for simple youtube buffering.
If people tell me 1gbps vs 10gbps broadband not much difference, i kind of agree. I rather cut down my other subscription like netflix than replacing my home broad band. Haha.

Usually people use this if they stay in sg for a while or just rent a room. So they don't want to subscribe to 24 months fiber.
