Should i change a pair or a set of tyres?

One of the tyre side wall is damaged, should i replace just a pair or all 4 of them ??
tyres is 1 year into service, about 20k mileage

bought the car (new) in 2020 but car was manufactured in 2019..

Always replace in pairs. If just one pair, the new set of tyres should go to the rear.

Most tire shops will ask you replace a pair.
