Hi, I am currently waiting to enter SMU Business School as I have just completed NS. Am thinking about specialising in Finance when I hit Y2, but I did not do well for my A Level Economics. Would it be too big of a risk to take Finance seeing as how I have been proven to not be very proficient in the economic theories?
Would really appreciate if I could get some advice from seniors who have / are currently taking Finance as their major in SMU.

Hi bro, I'm taking finance at SMU rn. IMO JC econs and whatever im learning in FIN right now is totally different. Personally my Jc econs experience was just memorising and vomitting... but FIN is a total different ball game and kinda easier(?). So far my FIN modules include plenty of quantitative and qualitative stuff... so that would be one of the biggest difference.

You will have to take intro to finance (FIN101) as a business core module in SMU.. you can decide after that if you still want to major in finance!

If ur math is good maybe you want to try Quant Fin? haha
