Ex Android user now.

I think partial working as is still under testing or require change of new hardware like the slimmer gantry fare gates on MRT stations and new gen bus reader. Give it a few more months but at least we now know is indeed working in progress and coming soon.

My side the LRT gantry looks pretty old but managed to work. Hope they can roll out this long overdue feature ASAP.

Tried on TEL and CCL. On TEL, first time tap in weirdly it pops up "Face ID to open Wallet" but the gantry still opens, but tap out it shows the Express Mode animation (mini card icon from island). CCL no issue.

Nope it works at Dover station which has the old gantry

Guess any gantry works as long as the software has been updated

I think I accidentally activated the tap out for my card last week (force of habit haha) after initially tapping in with express transit. As far as I can tell there is no double charge as a new device.

logically this makes sense as it’s just the activation mechanism that change, while card and device used is the same. Anyway that’s my 2 cents so do it at your own risk haha.

It’s a risk you have to take since it’s not officially launched.

For my Samsung watch, I tap in using normal payment mode, then I forgot and used express mode. I got charged for the ride. Haha. Dunno about Apple though.

I think is more of whether will be double

Doesn't matter whether you use Express Mode or the usual Apple Pay, it will still be counted as one charge as your Apple Pay unique card number stored on the device is still the same.
