Around 4pm yesterday, the internet for my Singnet fibre suddenly went down. The LOS LED on the ONT is showing red, and no other LED is lit up other than the POWER LED, which is green.

Does anyone know what this mean? Is it an equipment problem e.g. the ONT not working? Or is it a fibre problem? SingNet engineer seems to suggest that it is an OpenNet issue as this means there is no fibre signal.

did you try to restart the ONT?

Did you check if the patch cable is inserted properly?

Joo Chiat area. Actually, the one that is down is my parent's place. My own place is also in Joo Chiat area, but I have no problem with either Singnet or ViewQwest. My parents place is using Singnet.

LOS light is normally opennet issue. Possible that they have accidentally pulled out your fiber cable, or someone have damaged it.

The black one, not the white one. The LOS light is solid red. The PON light is off.

LOS LED on the ZTE ONT indicates no signal/GPON unable to sync.

Probably either the nearby CAB end some contractor did patching/cabling work that might have damaged your port/patch cable.

Thanks guys. I called up SingTel, and SingTel contacted OpenNet. OpenNet is coming down tomorrow.

Funny thing is, this afternoon, the Internet came back on.

Previously, I had ADSL and always get disconnected. At least, the router could reconnect again. Switching to router, I thought it would be a lot more reliable. Hopefully, this is just a once off type of problem.

I haven't cancelled the OpenNet appointment yet. I am hoping that they can come down and have a look and tell me what is the problem.
