Not much change from previous to now.

Previous setup --> just change the top-right Hasivo switch to new one to get rid of the SFP+ RJ45 copper module.

I wonder what kind of usage scenario would saturate the bandwidth of 10G or even 5G fiber?

Never for me. But since I'm already paying this much, I want the best deal lollll 😂

Comparing $39.90 for (1+1gbps) plan vs $45 for 5gbps, I'll still go for the latter even though I don't have any practical needs for it

Nothing except SpeedTest for 99.99% of the users.

1) People go for 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plan not because of the real use case, but rather because the price and contents bundles, or the fact that 3Gbps/5Gbps plan is not much higher than 1Gbps/2Gbps/2.5Gbps.

Starhub 10Gbps plan is really of good value if you need EPL. Starhub Homehub+ UltraSpeed plan is also of very good value if you need the contents bundle. Basically it is cheaper than paying 1Gbps plan and then add on the contents.

2) Some people just like to try new things

3) Maybe only 0.01% of the user may have real use cases.

those 0.01% must be either doing some kind of big data collection or something illegal.

Just recontacted to SingTel 5gbps. Anyone knows if the onr can be placed flat on its side? All pictures I have seen have it upright

Need some expert advice here. My setup is Singtel ONR 10G port -- (sfp+ 10G RJ45)--SFP switch --(sfp+ 10G Fibre)--Intel X520 network card in Computer. Windows showing 10Gbps ethernet connection. But Ookla speed test run only shows 3.8Gbps/1.6Gbps down/up respectively. Ran a few times same results. What could possibly goes wrong with this setup for not achieving full 5Gbps? Thanks for any tips to improve the setup.

I went query too. The tv bundle not bad too, the fibre sub is free, but only pay for tv sub, first year $45/mth, second year $85/mth.

Yeps this was very tempting, my mind was set on this offer until I was given the 5Gbps offer

Did some maths for the duration of 24 months + top up for wifi 7, is $1665. Given a conservative market value for the router at $300, and the $200 vouchers (in the form of ntuc or taka not firm yet), this plan works out to be only $48.50/month.

In fact after 21 months might be able to recon and pay at a lower rate, saving the last 3 months of $85++. Only caveat is early recon need 10g or higher, can't downgrade.

Usually Windows is the problem, especially if you use 3rd party Antirus program.

Looks like SingTel has a new 5Gbps Pro Gamer plan which is the upgrade to the 1+1 plan. I wonder is one of the port bridged.

From the pdf terms and conditions, the ONR is not bridged. In this case, I will not consider it as an upgrade of the 1+1 plan. You may want to contact Singtel for confirmation.

Reference from the pdf terms and conditions. Same wordings are on the other Singtel 5Gbps/10Gbps plans as well. No idea how "temporarily" it is.

SingNet reserves the right to replace the model of the device(s) with other models without prior notice. This promotion is not applicable with other promotions unless otherwise stated. "Bridge Mode” is temporarily not supported on this plan and there can be no reversion to previous plans that offered “Bridge Mode”. This promotion is not applicable with other promotions unless otherwise stated.

singtel and gaming together is oxymoron. their routes are usually higher latency than any of the other ISPs :s13:

Singtel solution is to bundle WTfast Gaming VPN, which may be more useful than ISP's best-effor-routing optimization. That is to say, it may well be possible that Singtel Gaming Plan with WTfast is still much better than M1/VQ/MR. But it probably depending on the games.

Anyway, I do not really play games so I have no real life experiences on how bad Singtel gaming plan for gaming.
