My software updates is always set to "Download only" so usually downloaded when im in bed.

What is 1.5GB in today modern world, consider a small file size. Nowadays with 5G and so much mobile data and Apple allowing over cellular OTA update which makes things way easier, update anytime, anywhere.
1.5GB even at home with WiFi take less than 2 minute to finish download and less than 10mins to finish updating and iPhone auto restart.
Got it fixed. Had to remove iTunes (previously installed by downloading from Apple) and installing iTunes from Microsoft Store (the same version by the way).iTunes don't let me update (I am on the latest version).
Same here. Maybe 2-3 days then cable sync with the mbp.Have.. But still use wifi to dl software update
