I still considering worth putting down $10k for a secured priority CC for the lounge pass or not.
What interest is the $10k currently earning? Assuming you can invest the 10k at 3% p.a. interest, that is an opportunity cost of $300 each year. Each PP visit retails at USD 35. You can decide from there.

One way to clock more lounge visits without making more trip is to use connecting flights. You get to visit a lounge during transit as well. Of course, downside is time and choice of airline.

In Changi: SIA silver kris biz lounge in Singapore got free flow alcohol and champagne, but only Laksa and prawn noodle worth eating. The rest of buffet is mostly carbo fillers. Got shower and shared room sleeping loungers. Rather large lounge. It can get very crowded.

SIA silver kris first class lounge got better buffet food. Showers and individual sleeping pod. But lounge is smaller than biz class.

SIA Private Room lounge got a la carte food. Very nice seafood pao fan. Showers and better sleeping pods. They serve better champagne. Very big room for the small number of people.
Qantas lounge in Changi is good as well. BA in changi is average and crowded because their two night SIN-LHR flights are close in timing to each other.

If the $10k gets u decent interest and u fly economy quite a bit, then yes, if u can get 12 visits.

But honestly, over the years, I didn’t use the PP lounges that much. Usually never get to the airport early enough. 😀

No you can't enter the transit area if you don't intend to take a flight out. If you game the system, you're certain to get flagged and arrested (have many cases)

firstly you need to pay to buy a plane ticket to obtain a boarding pass to enter the transit area.

secondly if you do that with no intention of flying, you are breaking the law https://www.channelnewsasia.com/sin...hangi-airport-transit-send-girlfriend-3700516

Usually I need to rush to the lounges and rush for the plane after that because I also got a habit of not going to airport too early since I know our airport is so efficient.

if your job requires you to travel, you should be able to amass enough points to get Krisflyer Gold which allows u to use the SQ lowest tier lounge

if your office asks to you to fly over at very short notice and expect you to rush to a meeting immediately on landing, you can try to negotiate with your boss for business class as that will earn a lot more points, :)

actually that might be a good reason not to FIRE, you need the points from your business trips to help maintain your Krisflyer Gold status 😅

Yeah they used to send email invites to book appointment for new notes. Havent seen them so far this year.

but easier will be those “pop up” DBS ATMs that were the rage past few years

Still early I guess. Other banks haven't put up their CNY sites yet as well. But experience with DBS pop up locations quite bad so haven't used in recent years. Usually the queue is long and need to camp during their reloading timings, or has that improved?
