Ok, after scouring the internet I found the specs for both P8S and C8, it seems quite clear the P8S has a better panel so to DriftKing, it's not an issue with calibration.

https://test.tcl.com/ru/en/products/C8/65C8.html
https://www.tcl.com/sa/en/products/P8S/65P8S.html

Seriously difficult to find info siah. The P8S panel is better than the C8 which sort of explains the cost too. The C8 is ELED which is edge lighting, while the P8 is DLED which is direct lighting. If anyone wants to correct me, please go ahead as I am also just trying to find out which is the better model.

I think you terbaik the model. But this is interesting, but the C8 looks sharper, and has better white uniformity...

I don't think I got the models wrong, the C8 is ELED, P8S is DLED which should technically be better.

edit: I just noticed the C8 has slightly better white uniformity, but why? Isn't DLED supposed to be better?

Yes..I thought C8 is the better panel from the specs advertised.

https://en.tab-tv.com/?p=17987

C8 has Wide Colour Gamut ( Quantum Dot Technology ), and brightness of 400 nits vs

P8 ( No QDT ) and brightness of 300nits nia.

Any thoughts?

I thought quantum dot is just a buzzword? But yeah I missed out the nits rating, C8 is better than P8. Just be aware of the difference between ELED and DLED. The C8 might not have very even lighting since it's ELED.

@Vulpix, the link you sent is interesting as its the first time it shows even the Panel manufacturer :s13:

C8: AUO (I think it's a TCL and AUO tie-up, may very well be in-house)
P8S: Samsung :s22: (we can seek out which Samsung has the same display output?)

But I went to IMM Giant to see, the P8S i really think it suffered from poor settings, do have a chance to go down see see. The C8 really looked slightly more vibrant. I'm wondering is it micro-dimming is turned off from the P8S....

Well C8 got higher nits so that sort of makes sense, but I have a feeling it's not going to perform well in dark scenes. Will check it out this weekend.

Electric store usually set tv colour to over saturated and brightness to max?

Quantum dot is a proven technology...though not nearly quite as good as OLED.

https://www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/qled-vs-oled-tv/

ELED is a compromise for the thin sleek panel.

Do post your results when you test out the C8.

Need so much brightness for what.. It is going to be indoor anyway. Even more if you put it inside your bedroom..
Usually brighter means more accurate colours. That's why HDR10 requires a certain level of brightness.

Anyone has the same problem as me? TCL 55p8m cannot detect 5ghz Wifi, can only use 2.4ghz which can be laggy.

Please share your solution if any. thanks in advance :)

P8M series does not support 5GHz wifi if you were to refer to the specs.
