If you have been to Pulau Ubin, you'd probably have stopped at Yak Hong, a provision shop at the town circle, for a drink to quench your thirst. During its heyday, Yak Hong served thousands of people living and working on the island. Today the 100-year-old provision shop is frequented by visitors and 20 to 30 residents. If you have been to Pulau Ubin, you'd probably have stopped at Yak Hong, a provision shop at the town circle, for a drink to quench your thirst. 100 years old is impressive. Actually it can be designated a historical place of interest in other nations like Japan.

Too bad pap won't give a crap if it's part of national history or not. Just look at the number of historical sites like National Stadium, National Library, National Theater that they have torn down - all far less than 100 years.

It must be that the cost of living in using is so low that she can maintain even with about 20-30 customers per day.

I can't imagine a provision shop in Singapore main land surviving on this nber.
