Hmmm just to double confirm, I saw Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1x8GB) 3200MHz C16 DDR4 online. It is totally ok to get 2 of single stick instead of a dual ram kit right?
(it seems cheaper to get 2 of the single stick as compared to a kit set)

G.Skill ripjaws 16gb (2x8) C16 3200 $83 +ezbuy shipping few dollars
or
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (2xi) C16 3200 $98

I was thinking of getting 2 single stick from lazada ($110 with warranty), I guess not much difference? (besides the price)

Settled for
Ryzen 3600 $256 Amazon Us
Crucial Ballistic Sport LT 32GB (2 X 16GB) DDR4 3200 $177 Amazon Sg
MSI Tomahawk Max $161 Shopee local

Total $505 ($594 - $75 Shopback Amazon voucher 75/400 -$14 Shopback tracked)

Maybe considering buying some other random stuffs valued $6+ to see if qualifies for another -$20 (Shopback Allshops voucher 20/200) to bring it to $491 for the rig upgrade

If qualifies for Amazon gift card $15 (UOB collaboration) will bring it to $476

Ryzen 3600 $256
Crucial Ballistic Sport LT 32GB (2 X 16GB) DDR4 3200 $188
$444 - $105 (cashback) -$13 (3%) = $326

motherboard wise i still checking with the seller for asus mb.....
if no choice, then MSI Tomahawk Max $147 @ 12.12.....

then maybe 1 aftermarket cpu cooler...

How do you calculate MSI Tomahawk Max $147 @ 12.12? (or just a rough estimate?)

Nice bro, in the end we gotten the same rig. A pity that we missed the Ram deal at $155 and my msi tomahawk max which could be possibly gotten at $134 (186-20-12-20).

Anyway all's good, 3600 + 32gb + tomahawk max for $463 nett spend on my end before even adding in cc cashback, well within my initial $500 upgrade budget. Now waiting eagerly for shipping of cpu from amazon usa

Any suggestion for aftermarket cooler? i have a spare 212evo but no idea if requiring new am4 bracket (anyway read that its performance is abt similar as the default cooler). AIO seems rather pricey min. $80-90+

i dont go for aio because i more towards durability & realistic performance.
The purpose of aftermarket cpu cooler over stock cooler is using the big structure to transfer the heat to the air, rather than throttling the fan speed to achieve the cooling effect. i prefer quietness.... ;)

i am open minded to all brands....
snowman/deepcool....$20~$25
currently using Deepcool Gammaxx 400...very quiet.

snowman, a bit over kill :s13:

散热器很好,以前玩半个小时CPU就一直85度,现在稳定50到55度了,很厉害
