Hi guys. I have been going to snip avenue to cut my hair recently and they have been telling me that my hair is oily and so on. I bought their shampoo and I can see that it is effective. But they told me in the next session that the top part of my hair has oily scalp and it prevents the inner hair from growing. They recommended me treatment that would remove that oily scalp but it will cost around sgd50.00 plus. Did anyone face the same problem and which product or shampoo do you use ? And anyone has went for the treatment before and is it really effective? Thanks!

It is likely to be hair tonic that they will be using on your scalp. It is true that clogged hair pores (due to oily scalp) can prevent healthy hair growth, but it is unlikely that one session of treatment will be adequate to show any visible results. They might ask you to continue (be it hardsell or not), and if you don't continue, the $50 spent has limited effectiveness.

What I would suggest is to go for hair ampoule. It is a corrective treatment product and contains active ingredients to promote the growth of new hair, and also to remove the remains of excess sebum covering the skin and hair roots while gently and effectively cleansing scalp and hair.

One product to consider is Silkat Hair Ampoule.

Any comparison between uevo wax and syoss tu-re hard? Find the initial wax texture to be very similar. Only major difference in scent?

To be honest it looks like its reaching a saturation point.. Too many companies creating products with similar formulations. Morris still standing at the top of the pile in terms of product innovation imo

The recent "innovations" were primarily geared towards the comb back/pompadour type of hairstyle, be it dry or wet look, which has already been popular for several years.

IMHO, think there needs to be a new popular hairstyle to "drive" a new product.

I guess it has reached a standstill for now.

Agreed. How many damn hair products does one guy need anyway? The person off the street probably can't tell whether you're using Morris Motley , Blind Barber, or Gatsby anyway.

The industry relies on hype more than anything to activate consumerism and drive sales.

Haha but we gotta thank the hype! I think if it wasn't around we prolly wouldn't be posting here lmao :s13: Tbh all the prices we are paying are jacked up max - 20 odd dollars for a product - considering most of the formulations are nothing new/groundbreaking. Unless another product like Morris comes through, emerging brands are just gonna be another fish in the pond.

Woah bro allow me to be honest but your reviews are quite brutal haha. Morris to me, is 100% for sure a lightweight product. Hold wise, to me at least it is definitely on the firm to high side regardless of short or long hair. You're the first person to say its heavy! But hey to each his own

I am just stating my personal point of view. By the way, I am using it solely without any aid of other hair products e.g. hair powder, hair spray etc.

I find it on the heavy side and weak holding strength based on medium long hair length. I have not tested on short hair length so cannot comment much.

Fair enough bro! Everyone has their own opinions based on their own experiences. Personally I find once our hair gets past a certain length, it's hard to get a long lasting, volumised hold no matter which product.

No worries. I also understand that everyone's hair texture is different.

Truefitt & Hill pomades

Truefitt styled himself as hairdresser to the British Royal Court and the firm received their first Royal Warrant from King George III.

Today, Truefitt & Hill holds a Royal Warrant by appointment to the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
